Yesterday, I posted I wasn't going to watch "The Game"
And I took some shit for it.
A few of my friends and acquaintances know who I am and that I post here on DU.
Yesterday, after posting that I wasn't going to watch the game and didn't even know who was playing, I got a couple of calls from (what I can only call) semi-acquaintances who wanted to know what was wrong with me.
Actually, there's nothing wrong with me, or people who love movies and don't watch the Academy Awards, or people who swim every day and don't watch the Olympics.
Why should anyone be surprised that there are many of us who don't do what many others do, or what we're "supposed" to do. After all, no one is forcing us to march in lockstep. Yet.
Actually, (after reading this morning's news), the best moment was when the creature congratulated the state of Kansas. (And my bet is that millions of others didn't know that Kansas City is in Missouri.)
My final thought regarding yesterday's battle of gladiators, is that the winners don't make a mockery of humanity by showing up for a White House invitation to further degrade democracy.

Maybe DU's Proggies don't realize it - they have a book that expresses their "love" for the State of Kansas - but a LOT of NFL fans in Kansas are Chiefs fans. I know the members of my family who live in NE Kansas are.

Why would you even bother making a post about that? Did you just want to hear yourself talk? Were you hoping to get something started? How utterly immature of you. I can't for the life of me even imagine why I would start a thread on a topic of why I wasn't going to view some event or show on TV. Just do whatever you're going to do and don't feel compelled to announce it to the world, you dolt.

I'm not going to watch the football game
I'm going to read for a while, and then go to sleep.
Many that I know think there's something wrong with me.
I've been called a "weirdo" which I really don't understand. What's weird about not being interested in football?
Actually, I don't think there's anything wrong with me. I think there's something wrong with people who think that everyone is supposed to want to watch.
Is there something wrong with someone not wanting to watch the game? I don't watch the Academy Awards either, and some people I know, want to know "why not?"
And let me add one more thing that many won't understand. I don't even know who's playing.
Does that make me as unaware as Trump as to what's taking place on Earth? Sure hope not.
