Liberalism's 'cesspit'?: IAN BIRRELL says tech giants have turned San Francisco into a dystopian nightmare of addiction, homelessness and criminality

Quote
Gilles Desaulniers moved to San Francisco 40 years ago, settling in the ‘friendly, quaint and affordable’ city after running out of cash while driving from Canada down the West Coast of America.

Today he runs a grocery store filled with fresh fruit, vegan snacks and organic wines typical of this famously liberal Californian city.

But Gilles has shut one outlet and would sell up entirely if anyone wanted this one, his remaining shop.

San Francisco is home to many tech giants and rampant homelessness and drug addiction. There is no law and order as theft runs rampant.

It is a dystopia.

It is a dystopia.

And it's only going to get worse as the new DA, whose parents led the Weather Underground and are currently serving life sentences, will not enforce the laws that deal with the crimes perpetrated by the bums living on the streets of San Francesspool.

The disease of Progressivism is spreading throughout the State. The small town where I live (No. Cal) is beginning to drown under the weight of  free needles, hand outs, and a lack of the local Government having any kind of "ear" for the populace that rightly complains about the state of our streets.

I lived here in the early 90's. It was a neat College town at that time. Really nice place to live. Now it is dirty and filled with the homeless that, as we found out, are bused in from L.A.

The problem is they listen to groups of "advocates" and not the folks paying the bills.

Tech companies have approximately zero to do with the mess SF is. Tech has only become significant in SF in the past decade or so. The major tech area is south of San Mateo--Union City, commonly known as Silicon Valley. OTOH, bums crapping, urinating, and leaving used needles on streets and sidewalks goes back 20-30 years.

Birrell displays his ignorance of the SF Bay area and is whipping a bogeyman to distract from the fact that the problem is due to decades of governance that subsidizes, enables, and protects the homeless deathstyle.
