Sadly, my first reaction to tonight's news of our targeted assassination of Iran's Qud force
director was "Well, there it is---Trump has his war!"

And, later, when the official US statement about the attack was read and predicated the attack as a "defensive" strike necessary to prevent planned attacks on our personnel, my reaction we---and is---disbelief. Until it is corroborated by sources not allied with or beholden to Trump, I will not believe any such justification for an act of war without Congressional approval.

And, make no mistake: we are worse off than leaderless. The man who is claims Constitutional authority to "do whatever he wants" not only will use the coming war for his own political advantage, he has control of our nukes and has often questioned why he can't use them.

The United States of America has been placed in mortal danger by the idiot in the White House and he has no idea what to do about it.

There it is... Barry's children crying and afraid. thinking we haven't really been at war since Sept. 11th, 2001.

1. Trump has his problems, but when it comes to geopolitical, we know where he gets his marching orders.

4. I understand what you are saying, but I think it just as likely that this attack was a spur- of-the-moment idea that Trump pulled out of his ass between tweets and rounds of golf. The question "And, then what?" was not even asked, let alone answered.

Oh, this attack hit it's mark... unlike Clinton's cruise missiles and Barry's 'red line in the sand'. Trump just told the world- "You **** with the USA you are going to lose."

6. We should have known when he said Tuesday he wanted peace with Iran, by Thursday we'd have war.

Folk, I don't even think there is a strategy here. I am hearing on the news he did not consult with Congress, did not consult with our allies (there are still troops from many nations serving there, keeping the peace at our behest), nor did he advise any of the same.

Did he consult with his staff, Defense and Intelligence Agencies, State Department, diplomats? I really can't imagine him doing that. Some Wormtongue like Steven Miller or Rudy or Putin is whispering to his addled mind.

It is frightening that our Commander In Chief can be goaded into committing an Act of War by a segment on Fox and Friends.

You really think Trump is going to talk with Pelosi and Schumer about anything? They'd tell our enemies just to spite Trump.

7. Time to punt the "football" into the stands.

Now is the time for some sane patriots in key positions to assert themselves.

Are you calling for a coup? Kind of sounds like you are calling for a coup. Oh, please, start one...

12. Not only it, he has surrounded himself -- and this includes

the DoD — with invertebrate lackeys. The ****ing coward has surrounded himself with self-serving cowards who won’t stand up to him regardless of the absoluteness of his egomaniacal insanity .... We are truly ****ed!

What ever should we do? Pay them off like Barry did?  :censored:

14. I would suggest that you fill your gas tank up before gas hits $5 a gallon and the gas crisis in the 70's is going to look like a walk in the park, oh, & the market will crash of coarse & we will spiral into another depression.

Oh, didn't you hear? We EXPORT oil and gas now. We don't buy Iranian oil anyway.

17. Make no mistake, Republicans have put our country in mortal danger

They knowingly and willingly inflicted our country with Trump. He is seriously mentally ill and this is on each and everyone of them.

20. To the streets!

In my city we are making plans to take to the streets. This cannot stand.

You are too much cowards to 'take to the streets' unless you are unopposed and burning down your own shit.

**** off.

Iran?

By my lights, they committed the opening act of war on November 4, 1979.

Everything since then has been tiptoeing around "let's not have a real shooting war".

Trump thought that might be a reaction and took preemptive action:
From Oct...Trump has ordered national security staff cut: report

The key to remember is that if Dear Leader Obama or Hillary were prez, and s/he miraculously did the exact same thing that Trump just did, the primitives would be claiming it was a brilliant military and political move. They are consistently stuck on *who* did it, not *what* was done.

That's called leak prevention, where the Dems are concerned, at least. Further, this was a brief opportunity, not a long-planned operation (like with OBL) and Congress Critters are scattered around the country. Time wasn't burned tracking join Congress Critters.
