Well now, that's not very Christian of the Democrats, liberals, and primitives, not forgiving John Edwards.
DENVER - John Edwards is burning up the phone lines, begging former aides and backers to forgive him for lying about his affair - but hearing their rage instead.
As Democrats kick off their convention Monday, the onetime presidential contender is a man without a party - or a political future - trying to rebuild bridges through dozens of remorseful phone calls.
It's proving a hard sell with onetime true believers.
Many are bitter and disillusioned after swallowing his lies about his affair with a campaign staffer and vouching for his credibility with friends and journalists.
Some ignore his plaintive phone entreaties and don't call back - even when Edwards leaves follow-up messages. A few return his calls - and give him a piece of their angry minds.
When Edwards reached one longtime confidant asking for advice, he was cut off with a terse: "I don't want you to call me again."
The conversation ended abruptly.

All I'm saying is that you could have robbed banks, sold dope or stole your grandmother's pension checks and none of us would have minded. But shaving points off of a football game, man that's un-American.
Well, that is what the Breck Girl did -- cheating on his cancer-stricken wife and not admitting it before his presidential run, is pretty much the same. Cheat. no problem. Coverup? Problem (unless your name is Clinton).

Send him a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer and a forty pound ham!
You know Edwards would have turned Elizabeth's death (when the Good Lord takes her) into another run for some office, and he would have won with the pity vote.

I agree, and the Susan Komen breast cancer awareness foundation would have endorsed him.....and he may have gotten the majority of the woman vote.
