Why aren't those afraid of Obama...

calling a "spade a spade" since in the last few decades they've prided themselves on doing just that?

I grew up surrounded by racists and I was always dissed for being "politically correct."

That's just one of the phrases that have been corrupted by the right with the intention to make progressives look like wussies. To me, being "politically correct" is about respect, not carefully-chosen words, though I forego respect when it isn't deserved and call a dumbass a dumbass every time.

The outright fear of Obama is very interesting; though, to be fair, I had the same level of fear of Bush eight years ago. The difference is my fear was based on facts and being able to draw logical conclusions which have played out, to our dismay.

So, all these people who for years have proudly flown the racist flag and dissed anyone who disagreed with their use of racial slurs (and the obvious racism itself)...why are they backing away from saying they are afraid of him -- or hate him -- because he's black?

I've heard:

"It's not that he's black, it's his name...I can't get past his name. I'd never vote for anyone with that name." This from a proud racist. I called bullshit and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.

I came upon a car yesterday chock full of stickers; usually it's we progressives who go to this extreme, so I was surprised when I got closer to see things like "Obama is the Antichrist"..."Muslim in sheep's clothing."

The whole antichrist thing is big with the fundies.

So, I'm confused between the racist and fundie types as to why they aren't just coming right out and proudly proclaming, "I'm not voting for him because he's black," rather than the other BS they're spewing.

(I also think they're genuinely afraid that, if he becomes president, he will institute legislation to somehow punish white people. For those who fear that, I sooooo wish it would happen. That kind of karma would be a beautiful thing.)

Why aren't the racists calling a "spade a spade" since that's been their mantra for decades?

Why do you think they're avoiding this? Or, have you experienced those who do come right out and say that's why they can't stand him or fear him?

The hypocrisy of the Rush Limbaugh right-wing crowd never ceases to amaze me.

Edited for clarity of message...hopefully.

How about if I say "The spade is a full time moose-limb communist"? Is that better?

What is it with the DUmp suddenly being flooded with all these lame, pitiful, bouncy anecdotes? Are they trying to prove franksolich right in his suspicion their imbecility is declining?

This DUmmy is going to have to wait awhile longer for that coveted promotion to express lane bagger.

Its attempting to win through embarrassment. Anytime anyone criticizes or votes against the anointed one - they are racist according to DU. I think the hope is to convert the mushy middle by making them feel like racist scum if they choose to abandon the Obamessiah's heavenly message of hope and peace.

The DUmmie is living in a world of self-created illusion.  I'm not aware of a single Republican/conservative that is "afraid of Obama."  I am aware of many who don't like his politics.

Somehow they have this wierd notion that not liking  liberal policies equals "fear."  Projection on their part, since this dolt admits that he experienced this "fear" 8 years ago, but of course his was logical and based on facts.  :mental:

Well this is one Republican that is afraid of Obama.  Afraid that Obama will make Carter look  like a good president.

From another thread:

Ya know, I used to be a Malloy person! I remember how pissed I was when they took his show off the sir i Atlanta! NOW, he's just a jerk. He's supporting voting for a THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE! Yea, that'll work! I'm really sorry to see Mike fo this way. I loved his anger and direct attacks against the Pubs. Now that seems to all be gone.

21. These threads are really starting to irritate me.

I know why Mike's saying what he is saying and I completely agree with him.

Obama is yet another major candidate who refuses to come off as a "liberal". He's sliding steadily to the right and it really depresses me.

And yet, just as Mike says, we're all going to vote for him anyway, out of FEAR.

It's bullshit, and it's pathetic. And Mike knows it and he's not afraid of the truth.

Democrats/liberals are the ones who are motivated by fear.  Fear, fear, fear.

Just another example of how they accuse conservatives of doing exactly that of which they are guilty.

Oh boy, do I agree with you!  Geraldine Ferrarro is on FNC right now talking about "economic security."  You need actual security before you can get, and keep, economic security.

That's a sentence with a lot of $10 words and an answer worth zero. :censored:

Where I'm from the spade is the flat-blade used for working cement. etc.  The shovel is the curved blade used for digging, etc.   However, you are perfectly free to be backwards if you'd like.   :lmao:

Calling a spade a spade is referencing cards, not dirt digging tools.
