If this is true, the Twitter account associated with Patrick is full of Trump and MAGA related postings.

IMO, it's a weird mix of Stormfront-grade racism - with a particular obsession with Hispanic people - and "Progessive" anti-corporatism. IOW, Hitlerian-style (non-Marxian) socialism. As a FB Friend commented, there are a few points he made that some conservatives might agree with to some degree, but not with the extremes to which he takes them. He also seems to be unaware that the Hispanics he hates have been in Texas longer than other, non-Hispanic, people of European ancestry. He dislikes Dems, but thinks the Rs are blindly committing racial-cultural suicide - my wording, but he sets himself apart from Rs rather than siding with them.

It's perfect for the dishonest Dems and their MSM shills to pick what they want from it while ignoring content that contradicts their narrative. They rely on normal people being unlikely to read the guy's drivel.

Remember: it is not cowardly to pick low hanging fruit. AKA Don’t attack heavily guarded areas to fulfll your super soldier COD fantasy. Attack low security targets. Even though you might out gun a security guard or police man, they likely beat you in armor, training and numbers. Do not throw away your life on an unnecessarily dangerous target. If a target seems too hot, live to fight another day. My ideology has not changed for several years. My opinions on automation, immigration, and the rest predate Trump and his campaign for president. I putting this here because some people will blame the President or certain presidential candidates for the attack. This is not the case. I know that the media will probably call me a white supremacist anyway and blame Trump’s rhetoric. The media is infamous for fake news. Their reaction to this attack will likely just confirm that.
I don't know how long this will be up on Drudge Report. What I quoted is near the end, and makes a couple of interesting points. First, he acknowledges what conservatives have been saying for decades. Mass shooters choose "low hanging fruit", gun-free zones, to maximize their carnage. Second, he pointed out that his views predate and were unaffected by Trump. Third, he predicted the MSM's utterly predictable Blame-Trump Narrative.
