As expected, Mueller was of no help. So what's next?
Mueller told us so when he spoke out a few months ago and asked not to be called in front of congress. Realistic people "got it." (Actually, their was only one unquestionable/unsurprising fact that was confirmed yesterday. Louis Gohmert is one of the stupidest people to have ever existed on this planet.)
But here's the answer to "what's next?" The 2020 election. The future of the country, and perhaps the world, is riding on it.
Trump can't win. Period. But he and his Republican and Russian allies can steal it for him.
My guess is that the Democratic turnout will be massive. Will it be big enough to overcome "the theft?" It was big enough in 2008 and 2012. But none of us know how this will turn out. Afer all, the Republicans have had a decade to improve their "art of the theft." All we can do is vote in massive numbers, wait, and hope.
But it really comes down to this. Republicans steal the presidency and will do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it, and to whomever they want to do it to.
Or, the majority of us don't accept the theft. Civil War II begins? Who knows.
But one thing is for sure. Another four years of Trump and unrestrained Republican rule will spell the end of American democracy. How bad will it get? Figure it out. When concentration camps already exist, white supremacy and fascism has dropped it's mask, and unabashed racism is running rampant, where do you think America is heading? And what do you think it will look like after an additional four years of Trumpism?
I'm a devout agnostic. But what the hell could it hurt to utter some kind of "prayer" to whatever universal intelligence may exist? "Please, please, please don't let this happen."

The GOP is playing for keeps. The dems are playing it safe. Same as it ever was.

3. So what's next? Half of America willingly and carelessly marches on toward fascism
and drags the rest of the country along. There is no one riding to the rescue, not the elected leaders, the media or any universal intelligence. IMO

You’re correct in saying no one will come to our rescue. It’s up to the citizens of this country and the verdict is still out if we’re up to the task.
They are so close to saying they want a violent revolution... but they are scared of leaving mommy's basement...

I suspect there are multiple threads and LOTS of posts on DU that contradict Cyanose's premise.

Correct. However, a DUmmie may switch positions on a dime and go 180 out from previous positions without penalty.
They are also able to hold two contradicting positions simultaneously and believe both are true. That way, they're never wrong.

How much preparation do DUmmies need? With their track record for success they should be quite prepared for the absolute failure they will suffer in 2020.

So true. DUmmies are perfectly fine with other people doing all of the hard work but, when it comes to their participation, they'll be nowhere to be found.
