The Republicans in the House are like a poodle pound for the White House.
They simply could not bring themselves around to denouncing racism. They tried to paint it as something else.
But, finally, someone called out the racist demagogue in the White House. It must have been like a cold splash of water in the face? Nobody, no one, had challenged the dictator wannabe in the White House until yesterday.
It was as if someone stuck a huge knitting needle into the Baby Trump balloon. It whistled, it farted, and it fell to the ground.
So now, they have to regroup. They were not able to defend their Leader from the charges and they were embarrassed in the process. It didn't have to be. They could have spoken up before it got to that point. Mitch McConnell wanted everyone to calm down and let cooler heads prevail. But, that was after the fact. He was the perfect cheerleader up 'til then.
Will anything change after yesterday? Will they return to their kennels and wait patiently until they can sit on their Master's lap again?

Nah, they just read what Trump said. And saw that the MSM and Dems were lying about Trump ... again ... as usual ...

I seem to remember seeing several POC's asked if PRESIDENT Trumps remarks were "racist". The answer was overwhelmingly NO.

A very Prog FB friend (who is a naturalized citizen, IIRC) stated that "Go back where you came from" is something whites only say to POC. Being the grandson of immigrants who came from Eastern Europe and the nephew of a man who fled Mussolini, I was able to point out that many of those WHITES heard the same line. Among the ethnic epithets I'd just as soon be able to forget are some that denigrate Eastern Europeans and Italians.

During my years in Texas & Chicago, often heard the phrase "if you don't like it here, go back to where you are from.". Nothing racist in the least.

LOL! If we eventually retire to another, sane, state I'm sure I'll hear that from California-haters ... until they realize that I'm a bit strange but pretty sane.

The R's in the House know what they have to do to get re-elected, a large part of that being to NOT back down every time a bunch of kooks like you start yelling "racist, bigots, misogynists,, etc...", which you always do. None of what you say is true, and we're way past the point where we just point and laugh at you whackos. Not that we don't still point and laugh at how stupid you are; we do. But we're not going to let your immature name-calling affect us. In fact, we never really have.
