St. Paul council members, gay advocates call on Busuri to apologize

A St. Paul City Council member whose social media history appears to celebrate the criminalization of homosexuality in Uganda, among other anti-gay measures, is reaping criticism from his council peers and gay advocates.

Stonewall DFL and MYDFL, the LGBTQ and youth caucuses of the Minnesota DFL, issued a joint statement calling for Council Member Kassim Busuri to resign. They plan to present a resolution at the St. Paul DFL convention on Sunday asking the party to back their statement.

On Thursday evening, Council Member Mitra Nelson — the council’s only openly gay or bi-sexual member — called Busuri’s refusal to apologize for his Facebook history “a breach of the expectations we have for those entrusted with public service in our community.”

OutFront Minnesota, the state’s largest LGBTQ advocacy organization, also reached out to Busuri on Thursday to ask for a public apology.

Also gaining traction on FB is a muslim guy in Toronto, saying "Yes it is unfair that gay people be executed, but this is Sharia Law, and it is coming to Canada."  It was on video.

It took some nosing around, but I found that Kassim Busuri is a member of the MN political party affiliated with ... wait for it ... you know what's coming ... the Democrat :tongue: Party.

So he's a three-fer: Muslim, POC, and a Democrat. Between just 123 views (the thread is in the Minnesota forum) and Busuri being a three-fer, I doubt the thread will get many - if any - responses (who knows ... maybe my post will encourage an onlurker to respond, just to "prove" me wrong :tongue: ).

Now that the usual hypocrisy is exposed, no real DUmmy will dare respond.  A well crafted mole might.
