Some have migrated to a new place, but it's not quite the same; they got some obnoxious ones there.

It's unfortunate that DU Jr. crashed when it did, as the Clod Warrior dude had just started to create some mischief, and I wanted to see how it would evolve. After the humiliating trashing he suffered from one of our colleagues, I doubt he'll show up anywhere else.

Maybe a cyber-meteor struck DI's dinosaurian board SW. That new board looks like it uses a more modern SW, possibly php based. Or maybe a Russian 12YO got bored ... :rotf: .
I doubt it's a planned migration, as an old board with incompatible data format use usually kept open, read-only for reference in the new set-up. To tell whether it's still within the DU "family" look for new staff slip-ups like a post recognizing an IP addy they should not recognize unless from DU staff.

I think Skinner has been looking to get rid of DI for a while. He is not tolerant of opposing opinions. I doubt the programming was bad, DI suffers neglect from an uncaring parent, The slowness and outage may be deliberate to drive people away.
Still I'm not giving up.
It would be nice to find a forum where both sides can discuss that is NOT run by flaming libs who ban conservatives for being conservative.

About two or three days before DU Jr. upended, I noticed a lot from the other side of the aisle were complaining.
I commented that there was nothing we on this side could do, as we aren't Skins's constituency, and he wouldn't pay attention.
However, they being his people, if they complained directly to Skins, something might be done about it.
Like the lazy layabouts Democrats and primitives are, none of them complained directly to Skins.
And so here we are.

Ah, so THAT'S what happened to you. Glad to see you are well. Yeah, I even invited Clod Warrior dude over to the new board. It was just mostly as a backup and then a few people started posting there who could no longer post on DI, so we kept it going. It kind of took on a life of its own.
You all are certainly welcome to come over until DI is back up.

I didn't want to sit around and wait for Skins to throw us some crumbs, so I did what most non-lazy layabouts do... started a new board. Simple enough.

I always thought that a wonderful little phrase; it was used by Queen Mary during the Abdication Crisis of 1936, when she described a certain love affair of her oldest son Edward VIII, soon to be demoted to Duke of Windsor.

The site really started to slip after the 2016 election, most of the liberals left. As I predicted early on, when confronted with facts and logic, lefties wouldn't stick around.

What does that even mean? You all must have TONS of history that I am not aware of. It's a board. At the most, the mods can see your ips, no different than here. Big, big whoop.
