DNC and RNC stages from a Feng Shui perspective?
Advertisements [?]Hi all, I haven't posted much here, but I enjoy the group very much.
I was wondering what you all thought of the new DNC and RNC stages, from a Feng Shui perspective? I'm no expert, but the RNC one seems to have too many sharp angles.
See them here:

to everyone!

1. Hey, great topic!
I only have a rudimentary knowledge of feng shui, but on first glance I can say that all the hard angles of the RNC stage are very off-putting. Of course, it works (along with all the red--even on the floor!) for their hard-line war-like stance on everything. It will get the attendees riled, and not in a loving way. (I agree with the poster in that thread who said it looks like a Nazi rally--the hard-angled aisles and red-and-black color scheme in the audience area are reminiscent of the swastikas as co-opted by the Nazis, not the good Indian swastikas.)
The DNC stage, on the other hand, has flowing lines, which will help the energy flow as well--I see flow going around, out, and even up, which is great. Even the audience area is rounded. There's red here, too, but it's softened by the blue, which takes the anger element out of it.
I don't think I'm being overly influenced by my preference when I say that the DNC stage is much more friendly and welcoming.
Thanks for the topic, Wildflower!

3. Thanks! I agree about the flowing lines. Some other thoughts:
Yin vs. Yang: Both have a lot of darkness around the center, but the DNC seems to have more balance in colors and to be more calming.
Energy Flow: In addition to what was already mentioned, I was noticing the straight lines going right up to the podium...that intensifies the energy, making it "rush" to the podium, right?
Clutter vs. Simplicity: I'd say the RNC is definitely simpler.
Solidity Behind the Podium: In an office or a bedroom, isn't there supposed to be something solid behind the desk or bed for security? It's hard to tell what's behind the podium in the DNC one.
Bagua: I'm not sure how to address that aspect for these.
It's interesting to contemplate in terms of what each convention wants to accomplish and whether they'll be successful.
Thank you for your thoughts!

7. Some other DU thread speculated that Democrats

have all the artistic and talented gay set designers. The GOP probably got the guys who do the modeling for the military tables that they plan war games on. I don't know about Feng Shui. Eloriel a DUer no longer with us was an expert on Feng Shui. I don't know if anyone knows her, maybe they could get her take on it and post here.

6. Yes, good topic.
(And, I am quite the novice.) The DNC stage has rounded steps and even the audience configuration is rounded and soft, creating a nice flow of energy. The RNC design has an angular front of stage and even the audience seating is pointed, creating “poison arrows†directed at one another.
I'll try to post more observations later...
In the meantime. Is that a mirror on the RNC floor? Mirrors can tricky, so perhaps someone could address the consequences of this type of reflection.
(If evil reflects evil, does it become more evil or just cancel itself out? )
That's it, McCain is toast (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=245x74921)

I know I'm already biased on this, but theirs just has too much shit going on. It's too busy.
Which convention center will have more seats?

They need to have stuff going on, think of the attention span of the average DUer.

Theirs looks quite a bit like the disjointed thought processes of the nutroots.
If one could actually see disjointed thought processes, that is. Looks like something Walt Disney may have vomited.

The DNC stage has rounded steps and even the audience configuration is rounded and soft
to match Obama's thought process. Notice there is nothing "objectionable," like an American flag...only suggestions. And Obama's backdrop is very "sparkly" to appeal to those "special voters." :naughty:
The RNC is straight. Patriotic. Real. Nothing namby-pamby. I like it. :-)

I've seen pinball machine that looked less busy. Where's the flag, democrats?
The Republican stage looks business-like, mature, and proud.

All this feng shui lingo goes right over my head.

Complete and utter stupidity without an ounce of usefulness to make it worth wasting a second of ones time thinking about.
Where do they come up with this drivel?

i dont get feun whatever at all, but here the asians wont buy a house if the front door faces a certain direction.
the Indians wont buy a house if the windows are in certain positions in relation to the front door.. it has to do with luck and money, so they think.
to me, it seems like the cultural equivalent of saying, "your house is ugly" but blaming it on the 'luck' aspect..g

Theirs looks like the MTV awards.
For Obama the rock star! :p (H5)
Theirs does have much more Feng Shui IMHO. If "Feng Shui" means "making the audience feel like small children lost in a Vegas cassino". Then again, liberals do like their minions to feel small, lost and in need of Mommy government to tell them what to do.
"Ours" looks, how shall I put it? Unfinished. :-)

Will the DNC speakers get a chromed bucket of popcorn?

Some bunting wouldn't hurt.

I like shiny... Like chrome on a Harley.

I dunno, the Dim version looks like the casino on a Carnival cruise ship. Like it's the star and whoever's speaking just happens to be there.
The Rep version looks designed to draw focus to the speakers themselves.
It makes sense though, since Dims are all about gimmicks and shiny geegaws, hoping folks won't notice the rotten underbelly of what they're selling.
