14. In response to your going after McCain on the torture issue, I

believe you have something there. I saw this and will post it here as it relates to McCain caving in to bush on the torture issue.

When I went to school they taught us that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree or saying "I can not tell a lie". We also were told that Lincoln walked 10 miles to pay back a penny. Both stories are just political fables.

Now we are told that John McCain was a tortured POW. I wonder about McCain's history as a POW in light of him caving into Bush allowing him to keep torturing prisoners in secret torture camps. I think McCain's story is also a fable.

McCain is the son of an admiral and it is known that he got special treatment when he was supposedly held in North Vietnam as a POW. I think that maybe McCain either wasn't really tortured like the real troops were because if he were he wouldn't have caved in to let Bush do the same sort of thing that the Commies did to him.

Any senator who supports legalized torture is committing treason to the Constitution. Torture is an evil practice and America should not embrace it.

Marc

Something to ponder.....

So this idiot is claiming that McCain really wasn't a POW.  :whatever:

He's saying that McCain was a POW, but that the North Vietnamese wouldn't torture the son of an admiral. :mental: :rotf:

I'm wondering why a DUmmie would assume because McCain was a victim of torture that he would automatically side with our enemies (both foreign and domestic) about the issue?  What is the reason McCain would do so?  What would motivate McCain to think "torture" should not be used in any case to save American lives?  I would think McCain would be of the complete opposite opinion.

:thatsright: First of all, "treason to the Constitution"? Secondly, if a particular method is "legalized", how can it be "treasonous"? My head hurts.

Not to mention if he went through actual torture you would think the methods we use would seem like a cakewalk.

That's what I was thinking, myself.

Decent and civilized people are squeamish about using torture, and so rare and gentle in its application.

The North Vietnamese on the other hand never had any such qualms.

I suspect the "worst" "torture" that anyone has been subjected to under our system, is much kinder, much gentler, than the "easiest" torture endured by those under the control of socialists and terrorists.

Given what he went through, I'm sure to John McCain, "waterboarding" is a cakewalk, an absolute cakewalk.

When I was in the Army and we did our training on being a POW I learned that if I was a POW I would much rather suffer the techniques that we and our allies use than anything that enemy uses. Sleep deprivation and waterboarding are nothing compared to some of the stuff used on prsioners in WW2 and Nam.

Good Lord.  I don't want McCain for a President, but this kind of bullshit about 'special treatment' is absolutely slanderous.  The kind of 'special treatment' he got, you don't want.
