the wackadoos are going all nutty...

I heard the Obama campaign is going to text-message everyone their pick. Srsly, that's just silly.
-
The BarackStar! is being entirely too damn cute about this. the MSM is playing into his hands by treating his
VEEP nominee as the coronation of the next vice president of the united states, and all of this will just add to
the hangover that the entire country is going to suffer through after they are done with their obama-drunk,
which is to be followed by the obama-one-night-stand.
and I am sure that he will sneak out before they wake up, and won't call the next day.
-
I don't get it. They'll announce when they want to. No biggie. :)
BTW, I still think it'll be Bayh.
I heard the Obama campaign is going to text-message everyone their pick. Srsly, that's just silly.
I thought it was a text message "heads up" then they'll announce it.

it's a slick way of getting email addresses and cell phone numbers for future campaign donation efforts.

I thought it was a text message "heads up" then they'll announce it.
All I heard was that they'll "announce" it via text-message. I didn't get any details.
-
The fact that they're doing it on a Friday does not bode well for the DUmmies.
They always want bad news to hit the cycle on a Friday.
I thought the same thing, but I have also heard that they want to dominate the weekend news cycle. if this is the last big news of the week, then this is all anyone will be talking about until the convention opens.
but, as I said, I agree with you on releasing news on a friday afternoon. having said that, however, mccain has said he will announce his veep pick on august 29. :whatever:

As much "milk" as there's been.....could have fed a 3rd world country......
and Obama's brother! :whatever:
-
this guy really is believing his own fawning press coverage, isn't he? there was a poll out just before
he went on vacation in hawaii that indicated that the country was suffering from "obama fatigue", and
after a mere week back on the campaign trail, he is still insisting on dominating the news cycle for a
week with . . . nothingness?
this guy is an attention whore on a galactic scale. I knew that he was a deeply flawed individual, but
aren't we all? I am beginning to suspect that he is fatally flawed.

this is getting ridiculous. the barack-tease is giving me blue obamas :whatever:

I heard Obamas' gonna' choose a "wrinkly old white guy".

It's going to be Rick Santorum.
There, that'll piss 'em off.

I mean, how hard is this? if this is an example of the obama decision making process, I'd rather have john edwards in the white house. at least he runs from cameras now, instead of mindlessly and endlessly playing up to them.
-
BHO screwed up..........he waits until tonight, and the public will care less. He needed to announce the choice earlier in the week to have extended play leading up to the convention by the Obama News Networks. What happens now is that the announcement gets buried in the Convention news and the distinct possibllity of the Clintons hijacking the convention. The Clintons will undermine Obama every chance they get because they want the power and the attention.
They also have excellent memories and will remember who stood with them, and who crossed them. Payback will be a B****.

one of the DUmmies in that thread said, "there is not enough Zanax in this house to help me with this.. he just needs to tell us already!!!!!"
I hope he makes them wait until the convention. and then texts them during a commercial break :-)

exactly! which is why people are squirming about the roll call - NOBODY wants to go on public record as changing their vote from Hil to Obama.
but all this hype better produce some stellar choice that nobody even thought about ... otherwise, its a huge handjob with no ... um.. payoff :-)

It SHOULD be a no brainer. To me if you're going to make a serious run at the White House...you already have a list of people you not only know would compliment you as a VP...but would also be open to the idea of SERVING as your VP BEFORE you even announce your candidacy.
Obama seems to have missed that day of his PolySci class in college.
I guarantee that they are still focus testing and opinion polling right down to the minute Obama finally quits stalling and picks a name.
One of his potential Veep picks summed it up best..."it's not something that lends itself to on-the-job training".

the hype has already exceeded any choice he could make. he's building this thing up until it is an unavoidable disappointment/anti-climax.
and to pursue the metaphor, he should be more mindful of how much he teases the MSM and his followers, because at some point or another, the smart thing to do is to just give up, put your pants back on, and go home.

I think most of America simply cannot imagine it at all.. I go to every sort of political blog on the web and there is nothing but question marks all over Obama in all of them. He isnt fooling anyone in this country, except, it seems, the press and half of DU..
I live in Seattle and I know and am friends with all sorts of Dems; none of them are even moderately bowled over by Obama. They arent supporting McCain either, but they think just as we do that Obama is a disaster in the making and they are not happy about their choices.

did you hear the Biden speech from the 80s about that? Rush is just salivating for the choice to be Biden... he is going to blow up his archives digging up all the crazy stuff Biden has said over the years :-)

i think you may be right.. his coy 'wouldnt you like to know!' responses are not professional and certainly not worthy of the leader of the free world.
i sure hope McCain's new guy is cranking out ads about this stupid stunt.

Also very effective in "get out the vote" efforts come election day.

As far as I'm concerned, Teh Obamessiah can keep the name of the vice messiah under his hat until November. Every second that goes by without the white smoke coming from the Obama camp is like Chinese water torture on the DUmmies, and I for one find it entertaining as hell.

Obama needs to go with someone that won't outshine hime. Someone that hopefully restores some of the street cred he has lost of late. The pick will be Emmanuel Lewis :lmao:

Stupid Obama campaign - all he is doing is insuring that most people will be disappointed as all these little "camps" have developed for all the most likely picks - all of which now have an 8-mile long list of why their fantasy team is better than all the others. Thyere will be many tears of angst - the most of which will be coming from the Hillary folks (most likely - I put little faith in HC getting the Veep spot - but I have been wrong before).
Its like Obama is now making "Operation Chaos - Veep Edition" against himself..
-
This reminds me of Fred Thompson. Back around last summer, many of us were anxiously waiting for him to get in the race, but the announcement never came, despite several hints. I imagine it was because he was waiting for that season of Law and Order to finish its run. Anyway, finally in September, the announcement came, but it was too late. The wave of momentum had passed him by and by then, too many people had made up their minds for someone else, and he just couldn't muster the support, despite his conservative views.
If Obama continues to tarry like this, it will only hurt his campaign further, and whatever bump in the polls that he may be expecting just won't materialize.

That certainly seems to be true. Of course at this point, he could use all the excitment he can muster and just hope that it does something..... anything. It's almost like he's doing this with his fingers crossed hoping some stupid gesture will light a fire under his campaign.
.

Yeah, I'm starting to see a bit of desperation setting in, and when that happens, it can only go downhill from here. It's also entirely possible that he hasn't actually decided, and he made the announcement to generate all this hype while he tries to make up his mind.

Yes -- this reminds me of the scene in SW I where Jar Jar had his hand stuck in the Anakin's pod racer engiine turbine.

whoever is covering the Dem convention for FOX had this to say today: all the people (the public) who come to the convention center are given a card with phone numbers on them to call (maybe 10-20 phone numbers) and so, instead of sitting and just waiting for the convention to start, they have thousands of free phone calls being made for the Barackstar!! on his behalf, from people who paid to get in the door.
now, is that brilliant or what?? they get free advertising *during* the convention from the public *at* the convention.. and the lefties make the calls for free..

Really, the VP knows and is just waiting for the joint announcement. The VP will have a big speech during the convention next week. The VP has known for days they're the one. We're just waiting on Obama to actually let us in on who it is.
