Furious Nancy Pelosi turns on Trump for firing Sessions in 'blatant move' to undermine Mueller while Democrats are powerless to stop probe being shut down
The House minority leader tweeted soon after Trump fired Sessions
The president sought resignation and is empowering loyalist acting AG
Pelosi called it a blatant attempt 'to undermine & end' Mueller probe
She blasted Trump hours after he praised her hard work and effectiveness
Incoming Judiciary chair: 'We will be holding people accountable'
--------
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi blasted the firing of attorney general Jeff Sessions, and called it a 'blatant move' to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller.
The newly empowered House Democrats brandished their new oversight power and hinted at an investigation, even as Democrats were powerless to stop the president from initiating what they warned was a 'constitutional crisis.'
Trump had already gotten a green light from Republican senators who had backed off from their warnings that Trump dare not move against Sessions or seek to squelch Mueller.
'It is impossible to read Attorney General Sessions’ firing as anything other than another blatant attempt by @RealDonaldTrump to undermine & end Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,' Pelosi tweeted.

Trump is the best President EVER!

This first post just set the stage, the post below starts the local Lefty whine.

3. Pelosi is right.
He and his followers think they can get away with this. We'll see.

4. Sessions RESIGNED. Get away with what?
The new acting AG took the reigns of the investigation, AS IS HIS RIGHT.
Trump has done nothing illegal. There is nothing to get away with.

6. but what is Trump getting away with?
what is unethical here? I just demonstrated that everything was legal.
I'm just unsure what you are saying.

What Muddling Through just demonstrated is the NPC meme come to life. Lefty cannot discuss anything beyond what the talking points say. New Deal Democrat is helpless when confronted by facts and just goes away.
This is why there is no reasoning with an NPC, they cannot reason. They can only emote what they were programmed to emote.

sessions served at the pleasure of the President, not nancy pelosi, the democrat party or the DUmmy base.

I wonder how many "Damn you Jeff Sessions!" threads there are on DU. Especially during his confirmation hearings. Scores? Hundreds?
I could be wrong, but I do not think the Ds going Full Hate-Trump" will play well outside of places like SF, Berserkeley, and West Hollyweird. If the Ds go Full Hate-Trump" they could be setting themselves up for a debacle in 2020.

That is about to be raised to the power of 10 now that RBG has been hospitalized. Things are about to get real.

I saw that on CU. An 80-something's body doesn't recover from serious injury as readily or quickly as a 50-something, on average. She should retire before she kills herself.

People concerned about Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s fall are offering their ribs and organs
People, especially younger people, were offering the octogenarian affectionately known as RBG their own ribs on social media Thursday morning. They even started the hashtag #RibsForRuth on Twitter.

Does RBG keep kosher?
Ds & Progs may come to rue the Rs increased Senate majority sooner than expected. An increased majority that may reflect the "Kavanaugh Effect".

With 3 broken ribs and at her age it is highly unlikely that she will return to the Supreme Court.

Since the USSC has been hearing cases, she may be ineligible to vote on cases partially or not yet heard. While I think the best reasons for her to retire are herself and her family/friends, she should not inject uncertainty into cases on the docket with issues of whether she will be there or not. RBG may be at the point of being unable to carry out her duties. Of course, she would have to be the one making that ability-inability decision (unless she's in a coma or something like that).

Not sure I have mentioned this SVPete but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE APPLE PIE! I was informed earlier today that we can possibly expect a fresh new Apple pie for which we are dying for.
I am a little sad when the pie is gone but I know that it will be replaced with another pie and many times that new pie is better. Crazy I know but I want more apple pies. It just makes me very happy.
Whoops sorry for getting a little off topic here. What were you saying again?

Does anyone know the protocol or if there is a precedent regarding medical leave for USSC justices? Could she possibly be on medical leave until a President more of her liking takes office?
-
As far as I know, the court keeps on trucking and she can only vote on those cases that she heard in their entirety. Eight will do the work of nine, not that it matters considering the court consists of mostly constitutionalists.

Yes, she can be on medical leave indefinitely. Only way she goes is impeachment, retirement or death. I read that somewhere many years ago. Assume it still holds true today.

5-3 majorities, as opposed to 5-4. :-)

RBG was released from the hospital a couple of days ago. I'm sure a weekend in her home was vastly more restful than spending it in a hospital.

Yep hopefully she stayed in bed on her back and rested. She should try to be a sedentary as possible.

Those ribs look done to perfection, give me a little cole slaw and I'm good to go. Pretty sure I could make a pile of bare bones out of that stack. :)
