Title: A DU legend
Post by: FlippyDoo on October 20, 2018, 03:37:54 PM
I was feeling nostalgic for one of the DU legends today and decided to do some googling. This DUer (and former DOTY winner) has to rank up there as one of the top 10 DUmmies of all time. Thankfully she's still around the web. She is (among many other things) Historian by training. Former day to day reporter. Sometimes a geek who enjoys a good miniatures game.

You can find her writings here: https://medium.com/@nadinbrzezinski

Does she have a spell checker?

Does she have a spell checker?

She must have because she's a tad better, but I honestly didn't check that closely. Her grammar and sentence structure is still not great. I also so that "worst" is still around.

Stella Blue, DistressedAmerican, and ColesCountyDem for me although I did learn a lot about Peanut Butter and Milk from Nads.

And who can forget Bobo the Hobo, and the late Redstone?

The DUmmies just ain't what they used to be.  I also miss the occasionally-rational ones like Sid, OMC, and the old lefty lawyer lady.

Forgot the keyboard warriors DUmmie name that dropped dead at the keyboard surrounded by old pizza boxes and numerous 2 liter bottles of urine.

If I remember correctly his mother temporarily pushed him out of the way to update his fellow DUmmies of his death.  Good times!

TominTib

DAMN -- best liar EVER!!!  IIRC he shot a shotgun off right in front of Dick Cheyney just to scare Cheyney.

Good times, good times.

Good times, good times.

Among his numerous feats of valor, he claimed to be the only Navy enlisted man to receive a Navy Cross in Viet Nam (Or possibly ever, I forget exactly}.  You can actually find a list of Navy Cross awardees on-line, there was more than one enlisted who got one and none seem like candidates to be Tom.

Also, IIRC he claimed to be the SECOND most enlisted man in the Vietnam War.

That was when the DUmmies actually put some work into their lies and stories.  The current batch are just that, DUmmies.
