Title: Boy Meets Grill ?!
Post by: CactusCarlos on January 21, 2008, 04:56:13 PM
They need to change the name of this show - this morning it was "Boy Meets Pot of Boiling Oil" as Bobby Flay made Fish and Chips, no grill involved.  :thatsright:

haven't watched the food network today...we (meaning my daugher and I) have been sucked into an America's Next Top Model marathon.  :whatever:

My sympathies to you.  I so totally do not get America's Top Model.

It's embarassing to admit that I watch it, but I'll admit, I like watching the photoshoots and seeing how the pictures turn out.   The rest of it is pretty much just filler for me.

I saw an episode of The Oprah once that had a cooking segment.  The topic was low-fat cooking, which includes sauteeing.  I've sautee'd my fair share of dishes, and it requires very little oil and fat to do.  This guy was deep-frying a piece of chicken in a saucepan, telling The Oprah how wonderful and "light" it was.

At least The Oprah called him on it.

I watched the premier of Rachel Ray's talk show (the only one I've watched) where Oprah Winfrey acted as if she (seriously) did not know what to do with a rolling pin.  The unspoken message was rich women like Oprah don't "do" kitchens.

As for the sauteed chicken, one thing Oprah Winfrey does know is FAT.

Is Oprah of such esteem that she has earned a "The" prefix to her name?  :lmao:

^ ^ ^ ^ Not so very far from wrong, Chris.  All good parody is founded in truth.

I've had fish and chips in the US, and I've had fish and chips all over England.

You can't beat England for real fish and chips.

I don't know.  The original Arthur Treacher's was pretty good.  A long long time ago it was.
