I’m surprised at the warped perspectives of many people here. You do realize all of this was expected after election night two years ago, and yet it’s been a nightmare for the GOP right?

And that in the very few elections that have occurred since then, democrats have done really well? And after this confirmation we’re probably going to do even better?

realmirage is seriously delusional. While judicial appointments and confirmations were predictable, the Ds have done just so-so in the past 2 years, and could experience significant push-back for what they tried to do to Kavanaugh.

Remember, DU is infested with "progressives" (Democratic Socialists) whose goal is to suck the life out of the Democratic Party, discredit it and make it lose (see also JPR), so they can replace it with a Labour Party (as succeeded in Britain). So, seen in that light, poster realmirage wasn't really trying to be overly optimistic (read "delusional" -- Ed.); rather to beat down a kind of troll you saw 3 or 4 of when you read the thread.

I have the feeling that after the 1984 presidential election that realmirage would be bragging that Mondale only lost by 512 votes.

I disagree. DU is infested with lazy, incompetent, self absorbed, childlike assholes that think the world owes them everything their hearts desire. They vote accordingly.  Not a damn one of the bunch is capable of thinking that far ahead. If the GOP was to suddenly start showering them with riches, they would dump the dem party in a new york minute.

Just my opinion.   :cheersmate:

I disagree. Oh, they'd still take the riches but they'd credit democrap policies that finally started working when Republicans were in power.

They would never leave the dem party.
