The confirmation hearings for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh got off to a chaotic start on Capitol Hill Tuesday, with Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee demanding Republican Chairman Chuck Grassley adjourn the hearing as more than a dozen protesters in the gallery called for it to end.
Grassley’s opening statement was immediately interrupted by Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. Harris took issue with the timing of the release of thousands of documents related to Kavanaugh’s work in former President George W. Bush’s White House. The document dump on Monday night was orchestrated by a lawyer for Bush.
“Mr. Chairman, I’d like to be recognized for a question before we proceed,” Harris said. “Mr. Chairman, the committee received just last night, less than 15 hours ago, 42,000 pages of documents that we have not had an opportunity to review or read or analyze. We cannot possibly move forward.”

Concur with d508, yesterday's tantrumming was not particularly surprising. It tells me a lot about former Justice Kennedy, not good things (not that I held him in high esteem). Borking became a standard D tactic for R USSC nominees, starting with the Bork nomination and was used against Clarence Thomas. Just as refusing to hold votes became a D tactic starting with GHWB's 1991 and 1992 judicial nominations.

The left are like the Wicked Witch of the East or the judge in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". They see their "accomplishments" about to melt.

IMHO...and I've felt this way since I first heard about the Dems requesting all those documents from when Kavanaugh was in the Bush administration was that they are wanting this stuff to try and refight a) the Iraq war and b) detainees at Gitmo.
They haven't gotten over losing those two battles with the American people and they are going to use Kavanaugh to continue to try and hammer and discredit President Bush since they couldn't impeach him over those two issues.

IMHO...and I've felt this way since I first heard about the Dems requesting all those documents from when Kavanaugh was in the Bush administration was that they are wanting this stuff to try and refight a) the Iraq war and b) detainees at Gitmo.
They haven't gotten over losing those two battles with the American people and they are going to use Kavanaugh to continue to try and hammer and discredit President Bush since they couldn't impeach him over those two issues.
And they haven't gotten over McConnell's use of the "Biden Rule" from 1992 that holding off on confirming a SCOTUS nomination from the president originated with the Dems. Karma's a bitch.

I'm surprised they haven't started calling him Judge Doom (the name of that judge in the movie) yet. Maybe that's on schedule for today.
