Title: Is it Friday yet?
Post by: RobJohnson on August 21, 2008, 03:14:43 PM
What are you up to today?

My morning included breakfast, gambling, massage and  haircut.

Now I am off to work.

It's cooled off outside in the past week....very nice days and nights.

I'm sitting at work, with papers in front of me, but not really working.

I'm pretty much doing the same, but I've got visions of little girls dancing through my head (and my boss knows, so he's kinda given the unofficial nod to my wool gathering today).

This is my slow week of the month.  I just really don't have much to do and I don't want to do anything either.  LOL

I have nothing to add to this thread, so here's a picture of a dog  bunny I have no idea what this thing is.

Okay, I've been slightly productive.  I updated my voter registration address and renewed my drivers license and changed that address as well.  Hey, I only moved a year ago. LOL!

Well, Friday's going to suck for me.   I was planning on sleeping in, as I don't go to work until 3 pm.  Guess what?  My car had its first flat tire today.  I was able to get it to a gas station to refill it, as it was a slow leak.    Tomorrow, I'll be sitting in the waiting room at Fairway Mazda, getting screwed over.  :hammer:  I'm hoping that I can get a loaner, if they are available.   A co-worker saw more problems with that particular tire (driver's side, front).   :bawl: They have a 2009 Mazda 6 on the lot, maybe I can borrow it for a day or two.   :naughty:

I had a leak in my tire today too!  I had asked a sales guy to take it to PDI to get them to check my tire pressure, since I noticed my front passenger side tire was low.  Anywho, they patched it up.  :)

I'm really torn on who to take the car to... the dealership or a local tire place that I've used before for other services.  It all boils down to who can do the job fast enough (and good enough) so I can go to work.    I worry about Fairway because they may have too many vehicles to work on starting in the morning, that they wouldn't be able to take care of me that day (it happened before, when I had to get an alignment..they made me wait a few days  :whatever:  ).

If you don't have any warranty covering your tire, then I'd just go to a Discount Tire, or something similar.  I'd call them in the morning and see if they do appointments.  Does your car have a full sized spare or a doughnut?  If it's full sized I'd just drive with that for a day or so until the non-dealership could work you in.

I purchased Road Hazard, so even if my tire couldn't be patched, I would just drop it off at service and get a new tire.  But then again, I work at the dealership, and they'll squeeze my car in even if it's super busy.  LOL  There wasn't a cost for my patch today b/c the PDI manager just took care of it for me.

I doubt I have a tire warranty, but I do have my warranty forms here so I'll be looking those over.

My spare tire is a donut, unfortunately.   As I was  able to get the car back up to 32 psi, I'm hoping the car will at least survive the night and I'll likely be up at 7 am, going to whoever is open first (dealer shop opens at 7:30, so I probably WILL end up there).

Well, this stinks.  I have the Platinum level service coverage on my car (which includes Road Hazard)... however, I have to take the car to the dealer who sold me the vehicle (which is over 250 miles away).  :banghead:

I used to keep a puncture repair kit in my glove box until I used them all up.  There's always construction going on and I had a horrible record for rolling over nails, screws, and other crap.

What company is the warranty though?  It'll say the name somewhere.  Then call your local dealership and see if they take them.  They can call in a claim if they deal with the company already.  :)

Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc is the company.

I'll take the papers with me in the morning.

It's Friday here already.

Sun's nearly past the yard-arm, so it's nearly beer o'clock too.  :-)

As for flat tires, I carry two spares, and have a compressor, plier kit and patches in the toolbox.

Oh, Fidelity is a big company, and yes as long as that dealership uses them (which I would be very surprised if they didn't sell it already) then they should take the claim.

I deal with JM&A (they're the ones that own Fidelity) and I know for a fact that they'll cover claims for extended warranties sold at other dealerships.  Just take the papers with you and you should be okay.

Hey, you actually asked about something I deal with almost every day.  :)

My night at work ended with an interview with the Cops....

Let's just say someone sold some prescription narcotic pain killers to an undercover police officer and somehow I was legally involved in the process.

The guy is in deep doo-doo.
