And as for "hiding in their cave", well we can't very well go over to DU and have any kind of debate or discussion. Anyone who is even remotely conservative gets alerted by a bunch of pod people, banned, and their posts erased like the deplorable unpersons they think we are.

We always have high hopes. Last season would have been much better, if not what that a-hole on the Vikes did to Rodgers so early in the season.

I read his nonsense every day on DI. There's no attempt at reasonable discourse there, so I don't see why we should believe he's going to do so here.

DU SHOULD be mocked. It isn't healthy to have a board such as that, thinking that is the normal way of thinking. Since conservatives/republicans are immediately banned from there, it is only natural that they respond in other ways.
This board acts as a service to counteract that line of thinking.
DU isn't unique in its mindset. They may be a little more extreme and unhinged, but you gotta know the enemy, so to speak.

Once in a while we receive a complaint from a primitive about being quoted here.
If a primitive doesn't want to be in the DUmpster, well then, there's an easy solution.
Don't say anything stupid, and one won't get featured in here.

Some of us certainly do use the same or similar screen names at both. Nothing to hide if DI folks try to follow my posts here or at Conservative Underground. My opinions don't change.

We don't cower here. We're all over the internet. It's the DUmmies who cower, can only go there, at DU, where anyone who has an opinion that goes against the grain is banned immediately because they just can't take it.
Example: A gay guy at DU was wondering why a group who wanted to kill him (Muslims), was venerated and protected. He was promptly tombstoned.

As others have said, the DUmmies are he ones who have a hive mentality and cower on their forum to avoid confronting those who disagree with them. Any expression of conservative sentiment on any issue gets a person banned there. Here, you have to be a SERIOUS d- bag to get banned (i.e. The faux- Muslim troll turd last year).
If you can be civil to us here and at least respect/ tolerate our beliefs if not share them, there'll always be a place for you here.

That is why. We can actually act like you dummies... savages... and blend in. In the 9 years I have been here the reverse has never happened. We have had a few like yourself, never stay long because... well because your type cannot handle being challenged, logically, in your worldview. Last one was buzzclick. He chided everyone here one day about not caring for some poor pitiful DU fool who had fallen on hard times... that is until someone asked him why HE had not donated HIS money.

You are welcome here and you will be challenged in your worldview. You will also find that we are not the ogres you think we are. We can actually agree to disagree. We are decent and civilized folk from across this great nation that gather together to point and laugh at the morons that inhabit the dump. In the 15 yrs I have been watching the dump I have come to one inescapable conclusion: They are all bat shit barking moonbat crazy... and the laziest, greediest folks that inhabit the earth. I guess I'd consider the footwear primitive a sane one, although his posting betrays that he allows someone to bully him in real life; it could be his wife, his girlfriend, a sibling, a parent, a teacher, a boss, a co-worker. It's obvious he's pushed around a lot.
Which is too bad, because the footwear primitive is the second-smartest of the lorgnette-and pearls crowd over there, the primitives who snobbishly and disdainfully look down upon, and sneer at, we simple folk.
I suspect the rampart primitive, the boss of the atheists over there, is the most intelligent, followed by the bullied one, and the third one, in a nerdish way, is Welles, the orson primitive. After that, it's a long long long drop down, nearly into negative IQ territory, for the rest of them.

No, they don't necessarily go together, sanity and intelligence, any more than intelligence is a sign of moral superiority, as many primitives seem to believe.
I think the footwear guy has a grip on reality, although his judgement is clouded by his snobbish disdain for decent and civilized people.
And of course the four-eyes Welles primitive, who as a kid had playing cards clothes-pinned to the spokes of his bicycle and tassels flowing from the handlebars, and who in high school wore a calculator strapped to his belt and could use a slide-rule--and wore white shirts with ink-stained pocket protectors. He's also nearly a life-long subscriber to Popular Mechanics and Popular Science* since he was an adolescent. Probably built his first computer with odds-and-ends from Radio Shack.....ten years before anybody else had a personal computer.
*Nothing against, or sarcastic about, the two aforementioned magazines. As a one-time collector of ancient magazines, I found Popular Mechanics, especially those from 1939 and earlier to be well worth one's while reading from front cover to back cover.....and even those 1940 or later were good reading, just not quite as interesting.

Though I don't care to revisit all the discussion surrounding how DUers obtained the name "primitives", it was a complicated and in-depth analysis of the works of Margaret Mead (specifically "Coming of Age in Samoa (1928)" and "Sex and Temperament in Three Primitive Societies (1935)"), and drawing the various parallels and comparisons between the primitive cultures of the South Pacific and the modern-day American political left (and DU more directly), that lead to DUers being properly called primitives.
The things we discussed were way to deep for modern-day liberals to even begin to comprehend, so to even try and recreate our conversations for them would be a waste of time since they couldn't understand it anyway. Besides, it was for our benefit, not theirs, and we all gleaned the knowledge gained and have moved on. When our CC site had difficulties a year or so ago, those threads were lost to history, but the accurate description of liberals as primitives remains.

It was in 2006, autumn I think, that I invented the term. Most of us here were at the time members of our old home, conservativeunderground, which used to give Skins's island the collywobbles. At the time, the popular slang name was either "DUmmie," which I thought unflattering, or "DUer," which I thought looked silly; the word looks like an elephant with a limp trunk.
One Sunday afternoon--I recall very well it was a Sunday afternoon--I came across a thread in which DUmmies or DUers were discussing the impeachment of then-vice-president Richard Cheney. I wish I could remember who all was there--there were about eight or ten of them--but the only one I remember in particular was Raven, the Bostonian Drunkard's mother.
I grew up without television, and early on when learning to read, I "saw" not only words, but also images, as I read.
In this case, it was as if I were an explorer in a dense dark jungle who suddenly stumbled upon a bunch of sinister-looking people sitting cross-legged around a campfire, in a clearing. They looked as one would imagine them to look, with tattoos, body mutilations, piercings, excessive cosmetictry, women with really big thighs wearing shorts a few sizes too small to accommodate their expansive backsides, pot-bellied guys either thin-haired or already bald, big holes in their earlobes, an other-worldly stare in their eyes. And since this was Skins's island, these were 97.8% white folk.
They were passing around voodoo dolls [the comments they were making] to each other for grunting-and-gooing examination and approval. Once in a while one of them, when looking at a really impressive voodoo doll, jumped up onto his feet, wiggle-waggled his armpits at the others, and ran around in a circle a few times.
So help me God, that is the exact and vivid image that popped into my head when reading the thread.
Later on, I began reading books by the famous anthropologist Margaret Mead, and discerned that not only did these people look like primitives, but also like primitives, they had their own special customs, taboos, hierarchy, fetishes, practices, dances and sports, and adoration of false gods.
I wrote a lot about the anthropological aspects of Skins's island, but as our good friend USA4ME has pointed out, much of that illumation evaporated during a couple of crashes of conservativecave, and I never bothered to rewrite it because there was too much to rewrite.

If you want a political discussion that we can keep civil, we can start with I am one of the new never-NFL'ers after their craven disrespect of my flag and through that, me.
I have been a HUGE fan of the NFL since 1969. Being from Los Angeles until a few years ago, I didn't even have a favorite team.
I used to look forward to NFL season (even "preseason" [aka "exhibition season"]). The saddest day of the year was Super Bowl Sunday since it meant the end of NFL for 7 months.
You have never spoken to a bigger fan of the NFL, I 100% assure you.
Then, the overpaid, selfish, spoiled brats decided they are SJWs. And decided to use their employer's time and money -- AND MINE -- to protest imagined "injustices" and to insult their fan base.
Well, I had no choice but to say goodbye. Even now, that decision is physically painful. It is like finding the woman you deeply love is cheating on you and has no intention of stopping.
When I see coverage in restaurants and bars it hurts like seeing that woman on the arm of someone else.

Well, with all due respect to the decent and civilized people of the state, an ever-diminishing number as Colorado slowly turns more and more blue, there isn't much west of Fort Morgan, excepting roads that are treacherous during winter.

I ignore the footwear guy over there, but only because I'm doing an experiment.
I don't mean I have him on "ignore," I mean that I don't respond to his comments, no matter how provocative or how chomping-at-the-bit I want to.
When I first went back to DU Jr., I tried figuring out how to get along with the lorgnette-and-pearls crowd there, primitives, who disdainfully look down upon us common folk. I divided the primitives in half. Half of them, I'd respond, or react, to their comments. The other half of them, I'd read their comments but refrain from saying anything, good or bad.
To see if acknowledging them, or ignoring their existence; which one was the best for getting along with these hostile people?
The footwear guy was in the second category. I still haven't discerned whether it bothers him or not.
Just a casual, friendly, informal sociological exercise.
Although I wouldn't have to do it if they were as open-minded, as tolerant, as accepting of "diversity" as they claim to be, receptive to different people from different backgrounds with different characteristics who think differently than they do.
