Waiter Made Up Racist Note On A Receipt
A Texas waiter who claimed a customer left a racist note instead of a tip is out of a job after admitting he lied about what happened. Khalil Cavil, 20, shared a photo on Facebook last week, showing a $108.73 check from his job ... On the receipt, his name was circled with the comment, "We don't tip terrorist."
But on Monday, his employer and Cavil himself said the story was fake. After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story," Saltgrass chief operating officer Terry Turney said in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
"The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us," Turney said.
“I did write it,” Cavil told the ‘Odessa American’ newspaper. “I don’t have an explanation. I made a mistake. There is no excuse for what I did.” In spite of his name, Khalil Cavil is not Muslim and does not have family ties to the Middle East. Cavil admitted he had lied ... and he apologized. Cavil spoke about his Christian faith. "I had to think, what would Jesus do in this situation?"

Now I'm sure all of us have heard this story by now. Interestingly there are 2 threads over there about this. One still hasn't changed it to reflect that it was the waiter who lied and it has 59 replies. The one I just posed pointing out it was a hoax has 22 replies, but I digress. I didn't bring this over for the content of the OP. I'm bringing it over to point out that the DUmmies are unknowingly proving Trump right, yet again. :lmao:
What's Trump big deal with the media? FAKE NEWS. The words the DUmmies laugh at ... until they don't.

And then it gets spread around twitter and everyone gets angry and it generates more clicks from more sites that pick up the story.
If he hadn't admitted to the scam, given another day or two, some twitter users probably would have identified the customer and started harassing him.
The waiter would have raised a bunch of money online from sympathetic dupes (he already thanked people on FB for sending him money).
This is where we are now.

Twitter and Facebook are perfect sources for outrage fodder, and nobody cares if it's actually true.

These fake receipt messages are becoming a cliché of their own. It's odd how this has almost become a trendy thing to do as far as hoaxes go. Why?

As was the case here, where this story was covered by CBS News, The Washington Post, The Root, USA Today, and on and on.
All based on a Facebook post (that seemed obviously fishy).

And if the customer's name was made public, he'd likely be fired from his job, etc, all because he ate a fancy meal in a restaurant.
Here's a real winner. Somehow this DUmmie thinks this whole hoax could have been averted had the waiter been paid more money to do his job. How about THIS DUmmie, he obviously was incapable of handling himself at the $2.80/hour he WAS getting paid (since he's since been fired), maybe he needs to find a job that will start him out at $1.50/hour until he proves he's worth more than that?

13. Here's an idea...
...pay waiters and waitresses a living wage...then make tipping truly a "gratuity". Sort of like they do in Europe. That or make tipping compulsory and part of the bill. It would solve a lot of problems.
That's most of it because you know the DUmmies don't want to admit to being duped .... AGAIN! :-)

It just keeps getting worse for the DUmmies. The waiter is black. He evidently said in an interview that he just wanted to draw attention to something he's very passionate about. I guess 'fake racism' is something he's very passionate about.
The DUmmies on the other thread were calling for the customers head on a pike. They were already trying to dox him so they could contact his employer. Can you imagine getting to work in the morning, not having a clue what has gone on because you didn't watch the news, or maybe you did and didn't recognize what was going on, and being told you're fired, clean out your desk?
Wow, talk about a lawsuit.

I saw that this morning, one thread screaming about the horrible people with a threadkill at the end when one of them posted the truth. Just a few lines down, another thread talking about how awful the hoaxers were to make it tough for real minorities, and how that waiter really wasn't a Muslim after all, none of them with the self-awareness to say 'Maybe we knee jerk a lot, and ought to step back and wait for the truth to come out.'

I've gotten to a point where I don't believe any of the stories anymore. If you can't provide some type of proof, I ain't buying it.
Here's the thing, if racism was as prevalent as the liberals would have you believe, they wouldn't have to be making these stories up. Everyone has a camera with them nowadays, and most of them are high definition video cameras. All you would have to do is walk around for about 30 minutes, keep your camera on and voila! you are now a celebrity for a little bit. The reason they make this stuff up is because they need to keep the narrative on the top of the news cycle.
It's ridiculous.

No, no, no! That is the mechanics of how this kind of @#$% happens, not the cause! The cause is media people who crafted narratives and credulously report whatever supports their narratives.

The truth is most waiters in fancy restaurants don’t want the so called living wage. They bring in way more from tips and can hide a lot of it from Uncle Sam.
