Nebraska Democrats consider ditching 'difficult' presidential caucuses
LINCOLN — Nebraska Democrats are weighing whether to scrap their decade-old practice of holding presidential caucuses.
The Nebraska Democratic Party’s platform committee voted with no dissent Friday at Southeast Community College to advance a resolution calling for the elimination of presidential caucuses before the 2020 election.
When the resolution was introduced, there were cheers from the group, and several people exclaimed that they dislike the caucuses.
The resolution now will come before all the delegates at Saturday’s state party convention.

Caucuses are a bad, bad idea, because only party activists and professional agitators have the time to attend them, while ordinary run-of-the-mill average everyday people don't. Caucuses tend to pick fringe extremists, while popular-vote primaries tend to pick candidates more reflective of the general public.
In case one's forgotten, in 2016, Nebraska Democrat caucuses selected the hoary old white-hair sourassed sourpuss crank from Vermont as their presidential candidate, while Nebraska Democrat voters, voting in the later popular-vote Democrat primary, selected the worthier candidate......but the old grouch got all the delegates anyway.
There's another reason the big guy posted this.
Accompanying the story is a television news-reel from 2016, showing Omaha Steve Nazi-like steering away voters, denying them admission. It's a good portrayal of the guy in real life. At least on this computer, the screen's in the lower right-hand side, if one wants to see.

Frank, I'm going to humbly disagree about caucuses. At least in my home state. Ours draw a lot of voters because they realize what an important role it is. It probably wouldn't work as well in other states, as you explained, because it would be a popularity contest. My thoughts.

Hate 'em, myself. I don't want to spend an evening playing a big hours-long party game of 'F. U. with the Medicis,' I just want to vote for my pick without wasting a whole night at it and feeling used and f'd over when I do finally get home..

I assume these cocks-r-us meetings are similar to the yearly town meetings I attended in Vermont as a tax-paying sucker.
After being escorted out by the current "elected" constable, she came by the farm to apologize for having to follow orders.
We legally blew up the Beaver dam with "non-destructive-devices" and had a good evening.
Those that "get it" need no explanation, nor will they ever need to get it.

I wouldn't bet against it. H5.

What's freaked me since I first saw this almost two years ago was the way his hands are, while admonishing the crowd.
That's some really peculiar body language there, subconsciously the mannerisms of an effeminate fairy.
He's way too fat and hairy to imagine himself that way.

I dunno frank, I could easily believe the Omaha Lardass is a "bear".

VT has town hall meetings in March on a Tuesday. The only people who attend are school teachers because they get the day off with pay. They all get together and vote in an even more bloated school budget with pay raises and lower health insurance and everybody goes away happy. Not.

>The only people who attend are school teachers because they get the day off with pay.
Mostly true. As I worked for the big "hightech" employer in my "leftist" county it was a rule we could attend. Attend I did.
Made many good local friends that had never met a real WV hillbilly. I learned nuance of Maple Syrup. I taught moonshine and
improvised goodness and defense.
Here we are back home and giving more than taking. Never again.

Oh so true. We, the few that spoke up are remembered and respected by the honest Vermonters. We may lose the vote but we know whom to trust
when lead flies.
