Democrats' Midterm Advantage Is Nearly Gone

https://politicalwire.com/2018/05/09/democrats-midterm-advantage-is-nearly-gone/

SNIP........

A new CNN poll finds the Democratic party’s edge over Republicans in the generic congressional ballot is nearly gone, 47% to 44%.

“Voters also are divided almost evenly over whether the country would be better off with the Democrats in control of Congress (31%) or with the GOP in charge (30%). A sizable 34% — including nearly half of independent voters (48%) — say it doesn’t matter which party controls Congress.”

Reality check: the FiveThirtyEight polling average still shows Democrats ahead by eight points, 48% to 40%.

4. The Dems Need to Be For Something

The 2016 election proved just being Anti-Trump isn’t enough. The Dems would win in a heartbeat if they ALL came out in favor of:

$15 minimum wage
Medicare for All
Free College for All
Anti-War
Legal Marijuana
Overturning Citizens United
Pro-Teacher

But some in Democratic Leadership have balked in supporting these issues, and are in peril of remaining in the Minority.

The primitives need to remember what they forgot back in November 2016.

franksolich's First Rule of Everything: anything can happen, and usually does.

If the primitives fail to keep this in mind for the second election in a row, well, alas! for the primitives.

Don't forget to add confiscate all firearms if you are serious about a Blue wave.

I gather from the reports this morning that the Progs largely failed and it was moderate Dems winning in their primaries.  Honestly rather see the craziest possible wack-jobs win on their side.

That's true, very true, as the weirder the Democrat, liberal, and primitive candidates are, the easier for Republicans and conservatives to win.

But on the other hand, at the same time, one gets much joy out of the primitives losing anything any time anywhere, as they so richly deserve to do so.

Your average person has no idea or cares about Citizens United. Please run on other obscure issues normal people do not care about too.

Yes!  Please don't forget to tell EVERYONE the dimocrat plans to raise taxes...that's a sure winner.

I'm not the most perceptive person in the world, but I realized back in the 80s that the MSM were gaming polls - under-sampling Rs to get results they hoped would discourage Rs from voting, and then sampling more honestly in October for CYA. In 2016 Trump scared the MSM so badly they skipped the CYA part.

Consequently, IF the MSM are gaming their sampling like usual, what looks like a Blue Wave Fizzle might even turn out to be a Trump wavelet or wave. But there's just one poll to which I pay attention.

They've been floating that list for as long as I've been reading DU.

If we went for Medicare for all, a huge percentage of doctors will hang a "gone fishing" sign on their door.  Medicare pays 10 cents on the dollar.

That's what makes it affordable!  :-)

After all doctors don't really need Porsches or Mercedes. They could lead a more basic life like Bernie who only has 3 houses. :thatsright:

I'm pretty sure the "doctors" at Planned Parenthood would disgree.
OK, maybe not, but only if you don't classify Lambourghinis in with Mercedes and Porsches.
