Title: for Funks, for Kc25
Post by: franksolich on April 26, 2018, 05:53:39 PM
Since you guys are always interested in the "history" of all we've accomplished here in the DUmpster, I thought this thread (and so many others related to it) from March 2012 would be interesting for you.

https://conservativecave.com/cave/index.php?topic=70733.0

It deals with when the big guy from Bellevue, Omaha Steve, ran for the Bellevue City Council.  If memory serves me correctly, which it might, or might not, he came in fifth in a four-man race.

The big guy had set up a web-site whose only purpose appeared to be begging for money.  Unlike what most political candidates would do, he left out any details about himself, and what he hoped to accomplish as city councilman, for a very long time; during the life-span of his web-site, it concentrated mostly on raising money.

Since his web-site was so poorly-planned out and displayed, some of u--er, some friends of his decided to put up a professional quality campaign site for him, which was done.  Alas, the site no longer exists, but trust me, it was professional-level, a really nice job, although the big guy himself forgot to express any appreciation to u--er, his friends for it.

As mentioned, there were a lot of threads about it, but this one, posted by formerlurker, was the first one, and appeared within half an hour of www.electstevedawes.com popping up on the internet.

Good times, good times.....

I could never figure out what prompted Judy, the grasswire primitive, to find the site so quickly; I mean, it couldn't have been up more than fifteen minutes before she was already whining on Skins's island about it.

20. I talked to GoDaddy...and they can transfer control to the REAL Steve Dawes with certain conditions

I have talked to a GoDaddy representative, and they said that in cases where the obvious attempt of a website is to deflect search engine results of legitimate search requests, they can remove ownership of the domain and either make the site dormant, or transfer ownership of the site to the real owner (in this case Steve Dawes). But they have to get the request from Dawes himself. All he has to do to provide proof is to show them the offending site, as well as the posts at other sites that are intended to manipulate the search results.

Actually, this happens more routinely than most people. While it's ok to have opposition sites up, it's NOT ok to manipulate legitimate search requests so that your site comes up. This is ESPECIALLY true for republican scum sites who try to hijack legitimate, progressive sites like Dawes.'

Hopefully, Steve's campaign manager will be able to make the arrangements. This is crucial, because though Steve will most probably win Ward 1 handily, the way the wingnuts are trying to obviously usurp this election through digital terrorism is not only juvenile and sophomoric, but a complete bastardization of the progressive democratic process.

And THIS is why the republican Party MUST be banned...pure and simple!

Great moling!!  BTGOP talked like a loon the whole time he was at DU, and he fit right in just like the CC owner knew he would. The primitives loved him for his violent outbursts and desire to round up and kill all conservatives. He reflected their evil desires, and they embraced him for it.

Attn DUers: BanTheGOP is you!!

I wish I'd at least had saved some screen-shots of www.electstevedawes.com for posterity.

That was such a skillful, masterful, professional job w--er, the friends of Steve, did.

Because of a misunderstanding, Marta and I didn't file before yesterdays deadline. There is a moratorium for a couple months on filing for our races. Our opponents didn't file yet either. I'm running for the city council against a very well connected Republican. Marta is running for the school board.
We know what happened to OS with his election campaign, how did Marta's go?

Here's a little bit about "Marta". (https://www.mylife.com/marta-dawes/martadawes) It appears to be a for-pay site. Evidently her true name is Martha.

Poor dear Marta never did run.

I always suspected her hubby the big guy shot off his mouth before checking out things.

I always thought one should stay away from poor dear Marta, because she's not a primitive; she just happens to be married to one, a big fat one.

The poor woman has enough problems, trying to deal with a big blubbery sixty-something husband who imagines himself a light lithe young Peter Pan, who never grew up.

The Friends of Steve Dawes were quite interested in lending a hand to Ms. Fuller.
Looking forward to it, actually.

Kind of surprised the rest of the primitives aren't trying to get Steve to divorce her. She's a member of the DEMOCRAT party

FB's inquiry was the only reason I resorted to Duck Duck Go wrt Marta. If you think it appropriate, feel free to delete my post. I understand almost nothing on the 'net truly disappears, but why make it easy for someone to be a jerk.

No, there's no problem with it, especially since she's well and widely known as the big guy's long-suffering wife.  It's just that I think one should focus one's comments on her worthless freeloading hubby instead, who is a primitive.

And one of my own contributions from my local campaign logistics branch...The Bumper Sticker!

I made a couple more images like a lawn sign or whatnot but those have been mothballed somewhere on one of my old 3.5" floppies.

Seeing that the wayback machine preserved the kindness of the Friends of Steve Dawes, maybe some "friends" could print it out and publish it in the local paper when Steve passes on (because, you know, Steve has been dying for like 10 years now).

Kind of like a fond farewell to the socialist we hardly knew.

The sad part is.... he still ain't dead yet!!   I had written out a nice obit for him years ago, waiting for the moment he shuffled off to his final eternal destination. Alas he never has.  I finally deleted it when it became apparent to me that he must be immortal or something.

One more great thread on Dawes. We burned the Topix column for Bellevue when Topix was a slightly bigger deal. The fun part is that Sarpy got in on the mix trying to defend hubby but we were able to steer the concerned Topix citizens to compare both sites and find out the real Steve Dawes, in his own words.

The reports of Steve's death have been greatly exaggerated... by Steve.
