I had enough and called my cable provider.

They answered on the second ring. "How can we help you tonight?"

"Yeah," I said. "My channels are all screwed up."

"What seems to be the problem?" the customer service person asked.

"Well," I replied, "on every channel, there seems to be some weird-ass psycho-nut-job clown show on. Some demented-looking old man clown with wild hair babbling nonsense, while a bunch of scared puppets stand up and applaud him every minute or so. Is this some kind of Stephen King marathon?"

"No sir," the person replied. "We're getting lots of calls about this. We've got people on it, and hope to get it back to normal soon."

"How soon?" I asked.

"Oh, I dunno," she replied. "Maybe this November."

Nope.  I work with people with contracts like this, and this would be a fireable offense.
