It's been 12 years since I made this video for DU, and 14 years since I joined DU

And now, all these years later, I take my final bow (yeah, had one or so before I admit) and am leaving (haven't been around much lately, life gets in the way but I still came here to read things).

Skinner has abandoned his ideals and principles. Discussionist has become nothing more than a right wing cesspool backed up by skinner and earl. Ask the admins here rarely gets anything from the admins - because they don't care enough to be here day to day.

I stick to reddit now(which has its own issues to be sure). DU is just a shadow of what it once was when it comes to progressives and fighting for what is right and the leadership we once had here is totally gone.

I am truly saddened at what has become of this place and skinner. During the bush years we were together (though we fought with each other a lot) and worked to get Obama elected. And we didn't give him a pass on things like Yemen or blowing off single payer.

This isn't "Democratic Underground" anymore. At least not as far as I can tell. The owner sucks up to the right wing (on DI) and when it comes to causes he isn't around hardly ever.

DU has sold out. I will keep fighting for progressive values and ideals, as I have done everyday for many years. But not here or DI. What has become of you Skinner?

This isn't at all what TSS means, but DU TOS are basically violated anytime someone tries to start a, "Let's admit and learn from our mistakes," discussion. And there are enough Party uber alles members to shut down such conversations.
