A Federal Court Just Made It a Lot Easier for Republicans to Block the Vote
The expiration of a key settlement could open the door to new GOP voter suppression efforts.

On Tuesday, a federal judge allowed a 35-year-old court settlement prohibiting the Republican National Committee from challenging the eligibility of voters at the polls to expire. The ruling, by District Court Judge Michael Vazquez of New Jersey, could allow the Republican Party to undertake new voter suppression efforts, such as purging voting rolls and intimidating voters at the polls, under the guise of combating voter fraud. The case hinged on Democrats being able to prove a recent violation of the decree, which dated back to the early ’80s.
Judge Vazquez, an Obama appointee, declined to extend the consent decree before or after the election. “As far as what’s before this court, you’ve presented me with no evidence of actual voter suppression efforts on the day of the election, much less tying it to the RNC,” he told DNC attorneys recently. He concluded in a short court order on Tuesday, “The DNC did not prove, by a preponderance of the evidence, a violation of the Consent Decree.”
The DNC, and DUmmies by extension, have been saying for the longest time the GOP has been suppressing the vote for some people. When actually given the chance to prove it to an Obama appointed judge they fail. :loser: :loser: :lmao: :lmao:

3. The current crap court (due to Gorsuch, Thomas and the other CONS on it)
will gut what little shards are left of the voting rights act - first chance they get. Republicans HATE it when everyone can vote. Too much Democracy for them.
Your definition of everyone includes felons, illegal aliens, people who already voted and dead people.

Ending an almost 4 decades old settlement agreement is evil, but this is not:

Voter suppression? I thought it looked kind of like this, and even had some help from the courts ...

"CONS" are not interested in suppressing one - not one - legal vote. What they are trying to suppress is you "RATS" cheating, cheering illegals to vote, and otherwise try to invalidate and neutralize legal votes cast by "CONS".
Voter ID laws do not suppress even one LEGAL vote. And for those legal citizens who somehow manage to function in our day-to-day world without a legit photo ID, well, too fricking bad. They aren't doing much in life anyway. Elections should be the last of their un-involved concerns.

R voter suppression would be banning note pads and writing implements from cemeteries. :-)
