Rand Paul's Injuries Could Complicate GOP's Agenda
"It's not clear when senator can go back to work after 5 fractured ribs, lung contusions."
(NEWSER) – Sen. Rand Paul has painful injuries, including five fractured ribs, after being assaulted at his Kentucky home Friday and it could be a while before he can go back to work, a spokesman says.
Paul "has five rib fractures including three displaced fractures," adviser Doug Stafford said in a statement to the Bowling Green Daily News.
"This type of injury is caused by high velocity severe force. It is not clear exactly how soon he will return to work, as the pain is considerable, as is the difficulty in getting around, including flying."
Stafford said the senator is also suffering from lung contusions caused by the displaced fractures, and "this type of injury is also accompanied by severe pain that can last weeks to months."

Politico reports that if the senator does end up being absent from Washington, DC, for a significant amount of time,
it could complicate the legislative agenda of Senate Republicans, who have a slender majority of 52 votes.

1. If he has a chance to cause misery for millions of the poor...
... you can bet he will not miss that "opportunity".

I would lay odds he was sleeping with or trying to sleep with the guys wife. This dude was pissed

7. I have a hunch Paul would rather not have the details made public.
Otherwise, it's hard to see why the perp isn't getting hung by the nards.

vote for whatever disaster Ryan and company are able to inflict on America.
"I want everyone to be in as much pain as me," Rand will assert.
Repulsive little pukes.

Kentucky isn't far from DC, I'm sure he could take a car to make the DUmmies lives totally miserable.
I hope he does...

Your side is unhinged. Just having a Trump sign in his yard probably would have set the guy off.

I'm somewhat surprised that Rand wasn't packing a CCW with him. Yes, even at home. 'Course, this asshole blindsided Rand, so if you don't know the guy's coming, it's tough to get the handgun out.

A potentially violent neighbor would be a good/justified reason to start carrying at home.

A fair number of gun channels on YouTube espouse this. They use USDOJ statistics to prove their point.

More liberal violence;
Jeff Jones, a registered nurse who worked with Boucher at the Bowling Green Medical Center, described Paul’s attacker’s politics as “liberal.”
“He was active on social media and said some negative things about the Republican agenda,” Jones said of Boucher, a Bowling Green, Ky., citizen who lives in the same gated community as Paul. “I think it was unfortunate that they lived so close together.”
Boucher is a divorced socialist who is “pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way,” Jim Bullington, a former member of the city commission who knows both men well, told reporters Sunday.

I've read that the attacker is an osteopath, an "alternative medicine" practitioner, not a regular MD.

Whether due to Boucher's hit or Paul's consequent impact with the ground, this is consistent with Boucher tackling Rand Paul quite violently.
It's a bit surreal. We're discussing how and why Rand Paul was injured, and DU-folk are talking about how Rand Paul deserved to be assaulted and how long it will keep Rand Paul away from DC.

It's not exactly what it sounds like. Michigan State University has a school of osteopathic medicine, and I know several grads of the program. I'm not sure what the differences are--I think it's mostly philosophical.

My primary care doctor is an osteopathic doctor. Decent guy, good head on his shoulders; but the oncologist that I had probably doesn't share my opinion of him . . . :whistling:

The simplest explanation of the differences is a DO promotes treatments that allows the body to heal itself when practical while a MD is more likely to feed you a pill.

My PCP is a DO, damned good doctor.
