I wouldn't have a problem voting for an atheist president, would you?

If he or she met all the other qualifications and was able to speak in complete, logical statements, and didn't want to bomb the whole ****ing world, I wouldn't mind voting for a candidate who came right out and said, "I'm an atheist". I know many think such a thing impossible, as in never ever gunna happen, not at this juncture or any other.

Why, some of my best friends are atheists, nice people, just like you and me.

12. DITTO! I HATE RELIGION!

So, you'd vote for someone who had all those qualities, but didn't believe in God, but wouldn't vote for them if they did believe in God?

43. Actually, studies show...
that atheists have a stronger moral compass and are less likely to commit crimes than so-called "believers." They're also more intelligent and intellectually curious.

care to quote any of those studies?

24. As long as they give an offering to Baal, I wouldn't care
And I'd like one of them FSM beer volcanoes. Just to be safe.

I bet he would vote for SATAN if he thought he could gain something from it.

How mature. I wouldn't have a problem voting for an atheist, provided they were also pro-life, for small government, low taxes, strong national defense and security, didn't want to flush the constitution...in other words, the anti-McCain.

I'm not seeing the so-called "strong moral compass" here, what with your blanket condemnations of the most chariatble and generous people on earth.

Raise your hand if you think these studies were probably conducted by atheists. I'm betting the right to choose to stab a baby in the back of the head would be a more "moral" choice than actually allowing the baby to have a life. I bet birth control for teens "because they're going to do it anyway" is also considered "moral". As an aside, abstinence education DOES work...especially if it's taught at home...I raised 2 boys...I think men are born horny, they start playing with their wanger the second they find the thing in the bathtub and make it a quest to find someone else to play with it for the rest of their natural lives. But the pride, self worth (true self-esteem not the contrived stuff public school teaches) and sense of control they gain from NOT giving in to that urge is worth a hell of a lot more than a box of condoms. Christians and atheists would have to agree on the morals to be measured before one could conduct such a study otherwise the study is useless.
