Hillary Clinton: It's Time To Abolish The Electoral College
http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/13/politics/hillary-clinton-anderson-cooper-electoral-college-cnntv/index.html
New York (CNN)Hillary Clinton told CNN on Wednesday that it is time to abolish the Electoral College, part of a sweeping interview where the former Democratic nominee sought to explain why she lost the 2016 election.
Clinton, in the interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, displayed her animus for fired FBI Director James Comey, reflected on her love for the people -- namely former President Bill Clinton -- who helped her get through the crushing loss and blasted the arcane election body that she believes helped Donald Trump win the presidency.
"I think it needs to be eliminated," Clinton said of the Electoral College. "I'd like to see us move beyond it, yes".
Clinton won the 2016 popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, a fact she routinely brings up in her new memoir. But Trump won the Electoral College, a body of 538 members who select the president based on the popular vote in each state, meaning the person who gets the most votes nationally doesn't necessarily win the election.
Excellent suggestion, Madam Secretary.
A plank in support of EC abolition and direct presidential elections should be in EVERY Democratic platform until it happens.

1. it is time to go
it is only ceremonial and it serves no practical purpose. plus it is just a waste of money, right fiscal conservative? how much money is the government spending to fly these people to DC to vote?
45 lost the election, but he won the process....... that is the only reason he is president
Nope. EC is not going anywhere anytime soon. You only want to get rid of it because Shrillary lost.
That avatar of yours. A throat punch is in order.

Maybe if they click their heels together 3 times it will happen!
-
What a tyrannical bitch! It's time to abolish the Clintons from holding any political office. The last presidential election was a testament to that end.

The electoral college proves our forefathers were light years ahead of the thinking of the average college student today. I never want our president chosen just by the decision of Miami, LA, NY and Chicago. There's a quote from Alexander Hamilton that explains the electoral college better than anything I can say. What our founders envisioned was brilliant. The only thing they messed up on is they never imagined that people would spend an entire lifetime in politics.

HilLIARy has known the function and intent of the Electoral College for over 5 decades. The EC functioned exactly as intended, a hindrance to a few populous states dominating and oppressing the many less populous states. HilLIARy knows this, had advisers who knew it and were capable of planning a strategy to work within that syste. HilLIARy was just too prideful and arrogant to campaign in states she thought were rightfully hers and in flyover states, generally.

Tyranny of the majority. Liberals love authoritarianism.
Also, not a word from billary about abolishing the Dem party's use of superdelegates. Maybe libs need to start at home before they start recommending to others how to make elections more "fair".
.
-
Seems to me that abolishing the EC would effectively disenfranchise millions of voters and place them under the thumb of a simple majority.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Abolishing the EC would require a Constitutional amendment. Yes??
-
Yep! Campaign in CA, IL, NY, PA, maybe MO, WA, and CO and be pretty much done with it. F@#$ the Flyover States!

That part of the election worked great for her so there is no need to change it.

Well, that's the goal.
I seem to recall a few (D) Presidents being elected under the current system. Didn't seem to bother anyone then.

It is time for Hitliary to sit down and STFU. We are tired of hearing from her. She needs to save her strength for 2020. :lmao: :lmao:

As an aside, the entire purpose of the Compact is to give the libtards one more free method of cheating the system. For instance, say that if the Compact existed, the GOP candidate won by, say, a million votes in the popular election. By the Compact rules, states that are part of the Compact MUST designate their electors to vote for the national popular vote winner. Do you really think a state like California, which is likely to carry the communist progressive at 75%, would not try to do everything in their power to subvert the compact at that point?
-
It's time to abolish the Clintons' having any role in American public life.

Amen and H5 to everything you just said, but especially that last sentence.
Hillary's immense pride and condescension undid her campaign in so many different ways, and yet she hasn't learned a thing from it.

Thanks. HilLIARy's book is correct in one tiny, narrow sense. Her defeat was not due to just one or two reasons. There were many, but her list is wrong, looking outward and blaming others. All the reasons for her defeat can be found in her and in her actions.

Fox & Friends had a graphic last week that had a list of all of HilLIARy's (up until then) excuses. Five columns, seven reasons per column. Do the math.

OK. By applying liberal common core math, 5 X 7 = potato
5X7=potato

IIRC, DU-folk were calling for Trump to drop out based on those EC projections that supposedly showed he had zero chance.

What our founders envisioned was brilliant. The only thing they messed up on is they never imagined that people would spend an entire lifetime in politics.
They never envisioned that technology would advance to the point where people could even have a career in just politics. They always assumed that anyone in office would have to do it as a side job, and would have to support themselves by working as farmers, merchants, publishers, etc, and that time taken away from their primary wage-earning activity would be at least marginally damaging to them. I wish they had included term limits and a requirement to follow all laws that are passed on the regular citizen as well.
