Mitch McConnell Is The Least Popular Politician In America

Mitch McConnell is on a losing streak.

He couldn’t get health care repeal through the Senate. He doesn’t want to fund a border wall. He may be looking at a government shutdown, if he doesn’t get on board with President Trump’s policies.

All that criticism is hurting McConnell in the polls.

He’s now the least popular politician in America.

The Hill reports:

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has the lowest favorability rating of any elected official with a national profile, according to a new Harvard-Harris poll provided exclusively to The Hill.

McConnell scores just a 19 percent favorable rating in the national poll, worse than President Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

Forty-nine percent of voters polled have a negative view of the Senate leader. The rest of those polled didn’t know McConnell, or didn’t know enough to have an opinion.

McConnell, who is not up for reelection until 2020, only has an 18 percent job approval rating in Kentucky according to a poll released this week by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling.

McConnell is the only Republican elected official polled that is not viewed favorably by a majority of his own party. Only 32 percent of Republican respondents view McConnell favorably, while 40 percent have a negative view of him.”

Part of the reason Republicans don’t like McConnell is that he doesn’t do the easy things.

Majority of Voters Think Trump Keeping Promises, Blame Washington Elites for Delays

A majority of voters think President Trump is keeping his campaign promises, while also believing that Washington elites are to blame for the delays in getting his policies enacted, according to a new poll released Thursday.

The George Washington University battleground poll found that 51 percent of voters agreed with the statement “Donald Trump had been keeping his campaign promises” with 44 percent disagreeing.

But when asked about the reasons for the delay in getting some of his promises enacted, 52 percent of respondents agreed that “Washington elites are to blame for the delay in passing some of these reforms.”

While the number of voters who viewed Trump favorably sat at a low 41 percent, Ryan’s number was 36 percent and McConnell’s was a mere 19 percent favorability.

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was viewed favorably by 34 percent of voters, while Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was viewed favorably by 27 percent — although 29 percent of those surveyed said they had never heard of him.
