obama nation: can we shut down Simon & Schuster when does a so-called serious publisher put out a book that is filled with lies, inaccuracies and distortions? They don't have to publish trash -- there are scores of Obama critics who can publish a reasonable critique of Obama. Serious authors are begging to get published.
I am not asking for a publisher to agree with my political viewpoints -- but, I am asking for fairness.
I think we should call for a boycott of S&S with an investigation of Mary Matalin's role in pushing rightwing hit pieces.

1. That Damn First Ammendment Again...
I haven't bought anything I can trace to Simon & Shuster for years...and hopefully millions of others haven't as well. Now, fairness is a double-edged sword...what you feel is fair doesn't necessarily apply across the street...so who decides?
Since Obama is a public figure, he has to endure these attacks and his people long knew these were coming. Let's now see how they and the public react.
In some ways, we may benefit from this over-reach. Unlike '04, this screed is soley Corsi...he doesn't have a John O'Neill to hide behind. As you saw on Larry King the other night, this guy is a total hack and as more people see him the more he and his backers are exposed as being frauds...doing their cause more harm than good. My hopes are that the money Mellon-Scaiffes and Perrys and others who spent the money to buy up this toilet paper won't be going to local elections...and that they get to eat those books in the near future.
As the saying goes...the truth will set you free. The goal is to develop an alternative media...which is well underway...and build it to compete with the "old media". The ultimate victory is to win the battle of ideas and ideals by showing how fraudulent the right wing is. Right now, the best way for that to happen is for them to keep over-reaching and being exposed for the fraud and hypocrites they are using their own words and deeds.

Corsi's book being #1 on the NYT Best Sellers list is eating the DUmbasses alive. They are trying to comfort each other by claiming the book is being bought in bulk by some right-wing rethug group or another.
The trouble for the little goons is, they know as well as I that bulk sales are not in the tally which determines the NYT ranking. Real people buying the book puts it at #1. Oh the pain! The pain!
And like with the crimes of the * administration, we hear about the lies, but we never get to know what the lies are about, or read the little goons rebuttals. We are just suppose to know there are lies because they say so.
The little goons and their ilk are still holding on to the dream that the book from four years ago about John Kerry, "Unfit For Command", was "thouroughly debunked". We all know, as they know, that nothing about that book was "debunked".
