I'm sure that if this stems the bloodshed in Syria Libs & Progs will find a way to pretzellate reality into giving BHO - who fomented the mess by destabilizing Assad and allowing ISIS to grow out of control - the credit.

:rotf: I guess breaking news is off-topic in the "Latest Breaking News forum" ... when it's a Trump accomplishment. :-)  :rotf: Poor gopher_gurrrrl! :rotf: One of the gophers must've fought back and almost throttled her. :rotf:

Cryptoad must not be a popular member. His (her?) post was locked because there were other threads on the topic, but two of the extra other threads (also on the topic) were allowed to remain.

Or, the (nearly) 30K post members get special treatment over those with only 5K.

Does DU's DIY Steampunk forum SW lack a tool for Mods to Merge threads?

I do much prefer single threads on a given article or topic, and "In Another Land" have done thread mergers. Members quickly see the value of being able to respond once in just one thread. Not posting duplicate threads takes a very little self-discipline ... self-discipline DU's Mods seem to fail to encourage, except in cranky moments like this.

That's been one of my main gripes about Skins's island for years.

My fellow alum really needs to have moderators, to collect threads and merge them into single subjects, like we do here.

I think the problem is the egos of the primitives; each one has to be king of the mountain, starter of a thread.

Most however just start a thread and then.....leave.

The nice thing about a Merge is that no post is lost, though the order can get changed and a little context lost.

Because DU sub-threads responses to particular posts, I suspect Merging might not be doable with their RYO steampunk forum SW.

I think Skins should have the elusive enigmatic Elad set things up so that if a primitive starts a topic and then runs away without posting comments to other primitives' comments, the thread disappears.

How many of the big, sweaty guy from Bellvue's threads would disappear?

You are not taking into consideration that these are not rational people with fully functioning brains.

They are blinded by hate and to many bong hits. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Bless their hearts.

Nearly all of them, actually.

The guy imagines himself a politician.

A good politician would hang around and answer comments, react to responses.
