Have a miserable 4th of July, DU-folk! Soak in the knowledge of your impotence!

Might as well tweet/google the 3rd Amendment.  It is equally applicable.

Don't forget to tweet/google "12th Amendment" today and every day.

That's the one that specifies the President is elected by electoral college, not popular vote.....

Don't forget to tweet/google "10th Amendment" today and every day.

Repeal the 17th amendment.
The 17th gave liberals too much power.

Quote
....  To balance power between the large and small states, the Constitution's framers agreed that states would be represented equally in the Senate and in proportion to their populations in the House. Further preserving the authority of individual states, they provided that state legislatures would elect senators. .....

It's "possible" after the 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 elections republicans could have had 60 or more senators if the original constitution was still in force.  :argh:

Republicans increased their control in state legislatures leaving Democrats with their lowest level since the Civil War.

Beating pollsters’ odds, the GOP picked up five state House chambers and two state Senate on November 8.

“Republicans certainly bested expectations on the national level and that holds true for the states where they are likely to come out ahead by 30 to 40 seats,” Dan Diorio, a policy specialist at the National Conference of State Legislatures, told FoxNews.com.

Republicans increased their majority of governorships to 33 from 31 -- their highest level since 1992.

Republicans control both chambers in 32 states, while Democrats now have total control of just California, Delaware, Hawaii, Oregon and Rhode Island.

Too bad most Americans are too ignorant (and around 1/2 of them too stupid) to understand the 17th. WHY it was so bad, how it undermined the original intent of the USC and why it should be repealed.

It is the second worst amendment of them all.

Computers sometime do things oddly. So Googling "4th amendment" yields different results than Googling "fourth amendment". Also, that version of the Google icon differs from yesterday's, suggesting the experiment was done a year or several years in the past. So, repeating the experiment:

"second amendment" - "About 8,160,000 results"
"2nd amendment" - "About 742,000 results"

"fourth amendment" - "About 6,220,000 results"
"4th amendment" - "About 1,290,000 results"

"fifth amendment" - "About 42,600,000 results"
"5th amendment" - "About 707,000 results"

"twenty-fifth amendment" - "About 2,050,000 results"
"25th amendment" - "About 1,710,000 results"

Just as "controls, chosen without reference to the purpose of the amendments:

"seventh amendment" - "About 14,900,000 results"
"7th amendment" - "About 15,000,000 results"

"twenty-fourth amendment" - "About 2,430,000 results"
"24th amendment" - "About 1,250,000 results"

Like DU calls for "general strikes", DU folks' Google Bomb 2.0 // Twitter Bomb 0.5 effort is, well, bombing. Predictably.

Not possible.  I'm from VT.  we did elect a RINO for governor, but both houses are firmly entrenched with the stink of liberals.  The only way we'll every have a Republican majority in either body is if we have a "you must have prior private industry work experience requirement"    a whole lot of trust fund babies from NY and MA are running this state now.

If you ask me, it's actually the most destructive Amendment ever, more so even than Amendment XVI, in terms of screwing up the republican system of government on the federal level.

Honestly, I think that Amendment XVI, assuming that it even stood for long after Amendment XVII, would have actually been kept far more in check than it presently is.  Really, though, I think that Amendment XVI would have been struck down in short order without Amendment XVII: the states would have just told the feds to go jump in a lake in very short order once they saw the destruction of Amendment XVI had it been actual states making that call.
