Hello friends, little update from Retrowire here
Hey there!
Just wanted to say I haven't been posting much lately because politically, all I can do is sit and wait for my chance to vote. There's nothing to be said from my mind.
Everyday I think about it.
Has Trump finally crossed the line? No. Not in the GOP's eyes. He never will.
Have we finally proven without a doubt that he's colluded? Yes. But, is anyone going to take it seriously enough to do something yet? No.
I haven't lost all hope. I've just become dormant.
Other than that, should the world burn, I'm taking this time to enjoy my family and life while I have it. No idea how long I've got that left.
I'm content. I'm alive and well in this tumultuous era. I'm witnessing it, I'm just waiting.
RREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE RUSSIAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!
The Deleting DUmmie kicks it off with a very tepid post. I'll grade it the inaugural participation pin to get things kicked off. The inaugural pin is like how the grifting DUmmies seed their GoFundMe account with $25 to get things rolling:

1. Hello retro
There is plenty to do from home while we "wait" it out. On my to do list today is to check the local numbers for McCain and Flake. Place calls to find out the office hours for letting them know what I think of the McConnell's kill them quickly health care fiasco.
The rumpublican reqest for voter data is also on the radar. I will include that in my calls to the Senators. The Gov. of AZ, and all other state officers will be included in my objection to providing voter info to a pResident or party who clearly intend to use it for futher voter suppression.
I am focused on the impact within my family but not waiting for someone else to do the heavy lifting. Not saying you are not, just saying waiting is not an option for me.
Resist
Calls? Watching? Pointing out the Deleting DUmmie's laziness and telling him to REEESSSSSSSSIIST!!!!11? That's a nice two pinner:

3. you have the right approach
*gets on soapbox*
One has choices in life.
1- You complain loud and long and do absolutely f*** all about what's bothering you.
2- You complain loud and long and do something ineffective.
3- You complain loud and long, do a mixture of effective and ineffective things but don't bother to try to improve.
4- You complain loud and long, but you actively try to improve your problem-solving with whatever the f*** is bothering you
5- You complain loud and long and solve the problem(s)
6- You say little or nothing and solve the problem(s)
7- You just suffer in silence mightily and do nothing to solve the problem(s)
8- You realize that you are not motivated to exert strenuous effort to "solve" the problem(s), do what you can within your human frailty to solve the problem(s), and adjust to the problem(s) as well as you can. You complain as little as you can because, well, who likes to listen to complaints ? Maybe one day you'll get off your arse and really solve the problem(s) or at least give it your best.
I think I exhausted the permutations LOL.... I'm in category #8. The human ideal, to me, is category #6 but who the hell is perfect ? I admire the activists who bust their asses every day and I chip in money and moral support when I can. It's not enough, but it's the best I can do.
/off soapbox
Glad to hear you're content!

8. There's a 9: You realize you can't control big things and do your best to handle your own patch.
Little things like making sure the kids in your school district have what they need, or your city's using its money for the best interests of your community. Making sandwiches and toiletry bags for homeless people or blankies for kids in foster care. Picking up litter at the park or on your daily walk. Socializing puppies and kittens so they can be adopted. Installing solar panels on the roof or changing your electricity subscription to a 100% wind plan. Using your bike or walking whenever possible. Sometimes you step up more, sometimes you step back more and spend a weekend binge-watching old movies.
It's a form of reclaiming power, too.
:panic: :rotf: TWO pins, for the bolded idiocy.

5. Glad to see you are still here...
You have the smart approach.
Mr. dixie is steaming about the political scene, thankfully he is on BP meds.
I watch what is happening like a slow trainwreck, dunno whether to laff or cry half the time.
It's going to be a long eight years for you.

This is really freaky. I was just telling Mrs. fatboy that I haven't had an update from retrowire and was curious as to what in the hey he has been up to.
Na, just kidding.
safety pins for resisting. Great idea.

I want to try to give this one 2 pins, see how this works. A dry run so to speak....

2. Glad that you are well
I have been dormant too, and to my surprise, kind of enjoyed it. I had tech problems with my iPad and have been off DU for almost a week now - thought I would go batty but I didn't
When you are batty, the batty don't seem so batty.

We need grading criteria.
Suggestion:
1 point for rage
1 point for doomed-to-failure idea
1 point for denying the cause of their problems (themselves)
1 point for use of cliches
1 point for turning cuck after raging
-
Sounds like retro's mental roller-coaster care is nearing the apex of a climb.
I went ahead and lived my life through 8 years of William the Indolent and another 8 years of Barack the Arrogant, but never felt a need to post that fact on Internet discussion boards. What a drama queen.

Good idea. Their spittle-induced tirades are so all over the place lately, it's hard to make a summation like that, but yours looks good enough to me.

Exactly. And you managed to do it in the Republic of Calicuckistan, no less. These clowns are falling apart and looking to get their diaper changed and held by their mommy after a few months.

Little things like making sure the kids in your school district have what they need, or your city's using its money for the best interests of your community. Like LGBTXYZ bathrooms.
Making sandwiches and toiletry bags for homeless people So They don't smell so bad when they hang out at the library.or blankies for kids in foster care.
Picking up litter at the park Left by liberal protesters after the went and ****e the place up.or on your daily walk.
Socializing puppies and kittens so they can be adopted.By liberals on welfare who can't afford them.
Installing solar panels on the roof or changing your electricity subscription to a 100% wind plan. So you can brag you pissed away a lot of $$$ on something that is too expensive and mostly useless.
Using your bike or walking whenever possible. Sometimes you step up more, sometimes you step back more and spend a weekend binge-watching old movies. And giving your favoritre bong some quality time.
It's a form of reclaiming power, too.

OK, is "Star Member politicat" a skilled mole or cluelessly invoking a bunch of stereotypes of content-light liberal feel-good-ery?
-
Have we finally proven without a doubt that he's colluded? Yes. But, is anyone going to take it seriously enough to do something yet? No.
Even DemonRat congresscritters say there is no proof. Maxine Waters comes across as a deranged loon calling for "impaychment".

When doesn't "Mad Maxine" come off as a "deranged loon?" :whistling:

Her picture is part of the dictionary definition of that term.

..............
It's a form of reclaiming power, too.
You know, The Ad Council. A place where tax dollars are spent informing the citizens the most obvious of things like Smoky The Bear Commercials. Could this be the reason why there are few forest fires in mid town Manhattan?
Anyway, The Ad Council had some big billboards in our area a while back. There was a likeness of what appeared to be a Tribal Elder dressed in his native costume clothes. The caption was "I Am Powerful". The implication is that this dude is really wise and in control of his destiny and all that.
The ad was for the Peace Corps. Every time I saw that billboard I got this image in my mind of the wise and powerful leader sitting around waiting for some skinny white 23 year old chick from West Orange NJ with an attitude and a BA in sociology who is going to show this dude how to dig a well so that the entire village doesn't die of thirst.
So that's a form of reclaiming power isn't it?
