Title: Regarding the President Trump "Mika" tweet
Post by: Ralph Wiggum on June 29, 2017, 04:07:21 PM
It was absolutely crass.  But, was it true?  No clue, not familiar with people having cosmetic surgery and the aftermath.  But no one has mentioned that to my knowledge.

A curiosity question.

Don't know if it's true either. But it's a fact that her father was friendly with Osama bin Laden.

Not to mention that, during her father's tenure in government, the seeds for most of the problems that President Trump is facing now were planted.

I think Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed it pretty well...he'll fight fire with fire, go low and you'll get your fill of low served right back.  Yeah, it's not classy, but I've had a belly full of GOP leaders being too dignified to fight back and then because of the total press dominance by haters they just end up looking weak and ineffective, so all in all I'd rather have this than the G W Bush approach of just looking like a putz.

Likewise, I do not love it in an ideal-world sense. But the Rs have tried keeping it classy for 3 or 4 decades, and the result was that MSM folk were encouraged to go lower and lower and lower and lower and ...  and lower. Now Trump is kicking them in the teeth. They hate him for it, but they worked long and hard for this. They could end it in 2-6 weeks by cutting out their crap and just reporting events, commentary free. Trump is smart, he'd notice the change within days, test them, see if the change is real, and then stop his counter-attacks. So far, the MSM have responded with a rage that has bypassed whatever professional judgment they might have left after decades of being partisan shills, and shot in both feet whatever remaining credibility they had left.

He is very adept at getting them angry so they make mistakes.  Despite their pretensions of sophistication and experience, they are so used to being untouchable and unquestioned that they react emotionally and instinctively instead of rationally when Trump yanks their chains.

Dead on.  They are getting back what they give, more so than how heavy they're giving shit, and they don't like it, because they have an expectation of not being fired back at.  Too effin' bad.

President Trump wants to marry Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

The pair, who Page Six exclusively revealed got engaged this weekend, discussed marriage back in January at the White House — in the presence of the POTUS and Jared Kushner.

Scarborough, 54, told Vanity Fair that Trump, 70, suggested they tie the knot at Mar-A-Lago or the White House.

“That’s when Jared interrupted and said, ‘Hey, you know what? I’ve got my license. I could marry you,’” Scarborough recalled.

Not to be outdone, Scarborough claims that Trump snapped back, “‘Why would you marry them? They could have the president of the United States marry them.’”

Mika Brzezinski: I Didn’t Have A Facelift! Only Some Chin Work

In a much anticipated op-ed in The Washington Post Friday, “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski addressed President Trump‘s mean tweets toward Mika.

The op-ed — a first-person account — is co-bylined by the TV couple.

In the story, Mika commits a classic PR mistake in that she allows Joe to go into detail about some of the things Trump accused her of, in particularly the detail about her alleged face-lift.

“She did have a little skin under her chin tweaked, but this was hardly a state secret,” Joe’s voice said in the op-ed. “Her mother suggested she do so, and all those around her were aware of this mundane fact.”

Joe and Mika said they’re “neither shocked nor insulted” but Trump’s words.

President Trump is playing the MSM like a fine violin.

They're all bitching about his mean tweets, but not much about the travel ban going into effect or the protests of that.

Not much about Kate's Law or the Sanctuary City bills passing the house.

Looked at the DUmp after my trivia gig last night, and couldn't find a thread about Kate's law, sanctuary cities, or much regarding the travel ban.

Well played, Mr. President.

Jared Kushner reportedly warned Joe Scarborough about National Enquirer story

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner was one of the administration officials said to have threatened MSNBC co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough with a negative National Enquirer story if they did not contact President Trump, according to a report Friday afternoon.

In March, the two "Morning Joe" personalities were informed that their secret romantic relationship, despite both being married to other people, was about to be made public by the tabloid magazine. It's not clear if White House officials told Brzezinski and Scarborough about the pending story or if the publication contacted them for comment.

Scarborough and Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, both texted back and forth in mid-April about the coming story. Kushner told Scarborough he would have to personally apologize to Trump to keep Enquirer owner David Pecker from running the piece, according to New York Magazine.

The tabloid published the story June 5.

On Friday morning, after a tense past 24 hours following Trump's first lashing out at Brzezinski and Scarborough, the co-hosts published an op-ed in the Washington Post that mentioned the Enquirer incident.

On their morning show, they offered new details about the "blackmail" attempt by the White House, as Brzezinski called it.

Enquirer editor Dylan Howard denied the collusion with the White House. "We have no knowledge of any discussions between the White House and Joe and Mika about our story, and absolutely no involvement in those discussions."

Trump insists Scarborough apologized, while Scarborough said he has messages to prove the White House threats.

"Watched low rated @Morning_Joe for first time in long time. FAKE NEWS. He called me to stop a National Enquirer article. I said no! Bad show," Trump tweeted.

"Yet another lie. I have texts from your top aides and phone records. Also, those records show I haven't spoken with you in many months," Scarborough wrote.
