I am starting to think there is no way to come back from this.

As in, post-Trump. After this piece of garbage is out of office. How do we reckon with all of this, with the fact that millions of people supported and continue to support this? This is not merely a difference of opinion. This is a grave attack on our democracy. A breach of loyalty to our country that is unforgivable. Is there any possible way to continue pretending that we are all one nation?

How can we 'unify' with the people who supported this lowlife? Do we even want to?

I don't...

1. at a bare minimum, foxnews must be widely regarded as a fringe propaganda network.

as long as it is accepted as normal, if conservative, we will remain in deep peril.

The solution:

starting with foxnews. Question is, what is the likelihood of that happening? In a sense, our laws are being used against us to brainwash a large segment of the populace and destroy us from within.

The means:

13. There were once limits on media ownership

That would help.

Regulations to require carriers (cable, satellite, etc.) To carry multiple news networks in their basic package would be good.

The rebuilding will begin immediately.  :whistling:
All executive orders reversed.  :whistling:
Obama directives reinstalled.  :whistling:
Of course we need the offices to do this.  :-)

Visualize once again having political powder, it's easy if you try.

.........blah, blah, blah, blah.....no compromises......blah, blah....

....This time, we should collect all the guns, tanks, planes and weapons from the states that wish to leave, cut all economic ties and force them to negotiate trade deals with the states that remain and then sit back and watch the New Confederacy implode like Haiti. We should also force UN resolutions to ignore them as they die by the millions of disease, starvation and extreme poverty. It may even make for good TV to send camera crews to film them hunting down their 'leaders' like some kind of "The Running Man" come to life...

Note the liberal useage of the pronoun "we"

14. I used to think

...the divide in this country was—beyond liberal versus conservative—roughly one of urban versus rural.

Now I see, comparing the Obama years to the Age of Trump, that the divide is really between: distinguished, thoughtful, and morally upstanding on the one hand, versus corrupt, ignorant, and vulgar on the other. That corrupt, ignorant, and vulgar can win such a large share of the populace (or really, any share at all) still bewilders and upsets me. I had no idea that these were appealing qualities, but I think that in the age of reality tv and the wild west of social media, vulgar is winning the race. Pray for our country.

Hmmmm.

The primitive must be having a little bit of a slight problem, unable to accept the stark fact that the primitive's passe, yesterday, past history, like the once-great British Empire.

Lo, how the mighty have fallen.

Too bad.  They were long overdue for it.

Practice saying, "President Pence"? (Or some other R leader)

Just keep up the Conspiracy-Theory-grade attacks on Trump and make, "We are not Trump!" your campaign message, and you'll make that happen.

15. Once we regain power

And I think it will be sooner rather than later.
The Special Counsel will find some crime, however petty, and impeachment proceedings will commence. Hopefully a few repukes will see the light and join us, if not we will sweep into power with the 2018 elections.
We will win both the house and the senate.
Nancy Pelosi will be the speaker, tRump and pence will both be impeached, convicted, and removed from office as the first order of business in the new congress.
Pelosi will be the new President. Hillary will be appointed VP and then assume her rightful place as CIC as Pelosi in a grand gesture of unity and healing steps aside.
Maxine Waters and John Lewis jointly chair a newly created Bureau of Reconciliation to right past wrongs starting with a clawback of ill gained profits from right wingers funding programs such as race reparations and forgiving student loan debt.
We will then reimpose the fairness doctrine and remove from society race baiters and the hate mongers such as Limbaugh and Fox News.
We will take our country back and those that stand in our way will suffer the same fate as the nazis.

People freely voting Trump into office is not a grave attack on our republic though. :naughty:

The DUmmie got this right, but not in the way they think.

Who supports allowing men to watch little girls change clothes and use the bathroom?
Who supports allowing gross displays of nudity and sexual acts in the streets during "pride parades"?
Who supports the murder of innocent unborn children?
Who supports the party chairman (Tom Perez) that has been using swear words at their rallies?

Who is the vulgar immoral party?

I don't know what kind of drugs this idiot is on but in reality what will happen is we will be in power for the next 16 years, and by then there will be no more liberal / progressives that have not been sent to the reeducation camps.

The WHAT????

LW - and all caught being guilty of fake news and extreme media bias:
All major newspapers
All periodicals except IBD
All broadcast media EXCEPT Fox (ABC, CBS, NBC, CfNN, MSNBC, MSCBS, ESPN, PBS)
NPR
1/2 of Fox

RW:
1/2 of Fox
IBD and SOMETIMES WSJ
Talk radio

It isn't the Right that has a massive propaganda machine.

And you guys ain't dismantling anything so long there is a 1st Amendment to say you can't and a 2nd Amendment to back it up.

Shitgibbon doesn't realize that republicans hold the executive and legislative branches.  Why would they abandon that to form some new confederacy?

Did anyone remind Moostache that California is the state where Prog morons have been trying to get a secession initiative on the ballot? To borrow a line from the old movie "The Inlaws", if CA tried that and the Feds responded appropriately, CA "would collapse like a wet taco". Because CA is not far behind IL and PR in the race into insolvency.

Dummie got the part in red correct.  Except that conservatives are largely the ones that are distinguished, thoughtful and morally upstanding.  The corrupt, ignorant, vulgar folks are by and large the dem voter base.
