You know, sometimes I wonder if I can be surprised by these DUmbasses even one more day. Then, tomorrow comes and they never let me down.
I've been on this earth for a few decades now and I know a hellof a lot of people. And I can't think of ONE single instance of someone I know allowing their family to be destroyed by politics. Seems to me like every damned one of these DUmpmonkeys has though.
Thread includes several suggestions to .. well, you read it.

11. Oh no! So sorry. Cult experts say it's important to intervene early
And to bring new information to the table.
Give her articles about how the right lies to America to advance their agenda. It may work. Once she stops talking to you it may be too late. So sorry.

18. She isn't talking to us now 2 months. We tried intervening. It only made her resent us more.
Seriously, these people are lunatics:

33. Oh no, I'm so sorry
Honestly you may wish to get in touch with cult deprogrammers. They have experience working with scientology, moonies, other right-wing christian cults.

34. She sent her father who had a life altering stroke in November a scathing email
Chalk full of lies with childhood grievances. She was fine and very family oriented until she met this guy and his family. She hung on to us long enough to pay for her entire wedding furniture for her house and a myriad of other things. I have a 15 month old grandson that i miss desperately and am coming to grips with the fact that I likely will never know him. It's sad but I will not allow her to rip the rest of my family apart.
You put politics above your childs happiness and aspirations. Who the @#$% you think you are kidding? She knows your effin nuts

19. My son did that....
We rarely get to see them now. Hell, we even gave them a house and we never get to see it. It is really sad.

20. Sounds kind of like what happened to my younger brother over a period of
10+ years and the way he went from being a good son to our mother to treating her horribly before she died.
I can forgive him for it though because he was born with mental problems but I cannot forget it nor will I ever forgive the people that turned him against our mother.

27. I've been there. Don't fight it and be prepared to be welcoming down the road.
Unfortunately most logic does not work and only forces them deeper into their hole. Usually with assistance from their minders.
If they can't find their way back to sanity by themselves it's better to get on with your life. Sorry.

5. The FIL sounds an awful lot like my father.
He can't come to my house and NOT bring up politics. He can't NOT insult me for being liberal. His right-wing, InfoWars-infused world view (more like back yard view) tells him that making a point means alienating people and being cruel.
We're Canadian, but if my dad could have moved to the US and become American to vote for Trump, he would have.
And we haven't spoken in 7 months because some of his last words to me were, "It's people like you who are destroying this world" after he screamed at me about Clinton and I got up from the table and cleaned up after the THANKSGIVING DINNER we invited him to our home for, as he sat in a corner and pouted and threated to leave.
Nobody needs these abusive assholes in their lives. Nobody.
I'm glad you have some quips to throw back at him, because I think I remember a previous post of yours where he insulted you after you made him dinner. You have more restraint than I do.

23. I have several decades of experience with these types.
Ignoring works until the day they make a physical threat. On that day everything changes even if it is in your own house. I made it clear I did not want to clean the house in the aftermath have never spoken or seen them since except by a drive by.

Every one of those "tales of work" is a lie, and each of them contains enough bullshit to fertilize the entire Mid-West.
If I were the future FIL to the DUmmie in the first tale, I would have quipped back:
"Thanks for admitting your lack of intelligence. At least your brother didn't inherit your family's stupid gene..."

Liberals driving their own families away. Why am I not surprised.

I don't know if it's a case of DUmmies driving their families away so much as the families disowning the DUmmies. Outside of Kalifornia or the Northeast, nobody wants to admit they spawned such stupidity...

I'm really doubting this tards spiel. Oh and paragraphs are out friends dipshit.

Talking yesterday with my brothers father in law a right wing idiot
All readers be aware this is a rant ,Comes a time when a person has had enough of the right wing lunacy. And I make a point not to bring up politics at get togethers . Especially with those who do not think as we do, I invited them into my home to eat and you start the bullshit. Even at 51 I will not back down, lets ruck up and buckle for the dust. This man is 69 years old on Medicaid or Medicare and he supports the repeal why because trump supporters are just dumb. I brought up McConnell being treated for polio as child and Uncle Sam footed his bill , or Ryan receiving SSI as child because his father passed. He had to bring up well I'm tired of paying for welfare mothers and kids. I asked so you gonna take a vacation on your 265$ tax break. As a Christian I have no problem we will always have those in need. And you are Christian yet you do not want to feed the hungry or heal the sick I just do not get you mister. Yet millionaires get huge tax breaks and that cash is not coming back if this passes. And why do you even bring this up at a meal , then I tossed out his comment on North Korea how we should invade. I know I'm ranting and rambling but I said I'm a infantry vet and you received draft deferments doing Vietnam because of your children. But one of my first memories of my father was visiting him at the veterans hospital and he lost a leg. Yet he was going to be career soldier yet he had 3 boys at time young boys and he went to Vietnam twice. So your rhetoric does not add up these people just piss me off. I forgot to add they left did not stay for chow not my problem if you wanna act like a f -tard, Where is the logic to come into someone's home and start this crap. I do feel bad for my kid brother I love him deeply as he loves me.

That :bouncy: confuses me a bit. Was he speaking of himself partly in 3rd-person and partly in 1st-person. As for "life changing stroke" that's repetitive and redundant. A stroke is life-changing to at least some degree. The phrase sounds a bit whiny.

"Honestly you may wish to get in touch with cult deprogrammers. They have experience working with scientology, moonies, other right-wing christian cults."
Scientology?
They are neither right- wing (Keep in mind how many ultra- liberal Hollywood celebrities are Scientologists), nor even remotely Christian.

The projection on that thread is LOUD! Every single post drips with irony.

DU-folks' near total ignorance of Evangelical and other theologically conservative Christians is matched by their total disinterest in rectifying that ignorance.

I think it's more than that.
They know damn well scientology is completely unrelated to Christianity. It's their way of insulting Christianity and demeaning anyone who is Christian.

That's possible, but whether their ignorance is real, feigned, or a mix of both, I'm laughing at it and them. So any insults are effective in their imaginations, but not in the real world.
