It's impossible to be too cynical with the current crop of GOP pols, every one of which is either batshit crazy, a crook or evil to their core. In some cases all 3. Pick your poison. And there is a long history of rat****ing by the party. Again, it's impossible to be too cynical.

22. It's not just the radical right stockpiling guns. It's the gangs. More people are dying from gang
violence. Last weekend in Chicago they were using AK47s against the police.
In Chicago last weekend 36 people were shot. 6 of them died. In one weekend. It happens mostly in a few neighborhoods.
Chicago has fairly strict gun regulations. Indiana boarders the south side of Chicago and has terrible gun restrictions.

Since this thread is about lunatic speculations, I'll post my hopefully less lunatic speculations. In order of likeliness, IMO:
1. Politically incoherent lunatic (like the Portland stabber);
2. Trump/Republican Hater who did what other Trump/Republican Haters said "ought to be done";
3. Muslim terrorist of the slipped-through-the-cracks Known Wolf variety;
4. White supremacist disappoint Trump isn't the racist the shooter hoped he would be.
#3 and #4 are in that order mainly because of timing. I don't think many white supremacists have fully perceived yet the reality that Trump isn't a racist - too dumb.

Like fascism, mass shooting are always blamed on the right but always ends up being leftists.
Looks like the climate of unhinged hate the left has ginned up has born evil fruit. Unlike Giffords, where the guy wanted to kill the republican judge and she was collateral damage, this is all on the left.
The GOP needs to come out swinging on this and make the donks own it.
