"If you make a donation of $5 or more between now and midnight on July 31st, you could be one of 10 supporters chosen to fly to Denver and spend two days and nights at the convention, meet Barack backstage, and watch his acceptance speech in person," the e-mail stated.

It included a link to the Obama Web site and the words: "Make a donation now and you could have a front row seat to history."

The solicitation prompted an inquiry by the head of the Minnesota Gambling Control Board and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the Star-Tribune reported Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Colorado secretary of state said Democrats would have to get a license if they were conducting "a standard raffle where they're buying tickets" in order to win.

For sale for your consideration is one flat Coke can, genuine aluminum 12 ounce size.  It was spotted by my daughter in the street and rescued by me on a recent shopping trip in St Paul, Minnesota.  I thought I would be green and put the can in the recycling bin at home.  That night on the evening news, Thursday, August 7th, I discovered that Presidential candidate Barack Obama had been in St. Paul earlier in the day, greeting voters at the Copper Dome restaurant.  I got to thinking about that Coke can, which was found only a short drive from where Barack Obama had been.  The can was in St Paul... Barack was in St Paul.... amazing!  Could the limo of our possible next president have run over the Coke can?  Could Barack himself have consumed the contents and discarded the can??  What are the possibilities.  Could this can possibly help to balance the budget.... to eliminate the defecit.... to bring world peace????  Well, maybe not world peace  --- but a bid on this can could help to balance the budget of our family, and help Dad spend some more quality time with the kids, bringing peace with the wife --- maybe even world peace after all.  Barack was in St Paul  --  the can was in St Paul.  It is up to you.  The future of this Coke can depends on your bid.  Do not take your bidding responsibility lightly.  God bless you all and God Bless America!
