Another "flipped" election in GA-6 today...
I'm sorry to say I really do think the vote counting "machine" is programmed to flip votes when the election is close, as proved tonight in GA 6.

republicans to cheat to avoid the embarrassment of letting a Democrat get above 50% in a strong republican district. Republicans openly engage in acts of voter suppression such as voter id laws and cross check,but it would be impossible for them to actually flip votes if they could. Somehow that would be above them.
I don't give republicans the benefit of the doubt. They are not to be trusted.

33. There are factors that concern me
1. Repukes just can't be trusted by nature. Party over democracy/the country much of the time for them.
2. Another example of the votes being stopped and then a big flip. This is not the first time that has happened.
3. Repukes have stolen it before - we know it happened in 2000, and likely in more cases
I do not fully trust our voting system. That said, we still have to vote, and there is a big point against the stolen vote argument: we came in much closer here than before.

GOP did not win and neither did the democrat, it is going to a run off. This is where in June the dem who lives outside the district he wants to represent and gets 90+ of his campaign funding from out of state is running against the female former secretary of state for Georgia Karen Handel.

Yes, Cobb County was somewhat close in 2016, largely because of people there being mostly hardcore conservative who stayed home rather than voting for Trump. The same district went something like 2:1 for both Romney and McCain. They haven't had a Democrat or even a more moderate Republican representing that district since the freaking '80s. The thought of winning this seat for the Democrats was Quixotic at the very best.

Apparently an R PAC came in with $$ about 3 weeks before the election, about $3M. The Ds, OTOH, spent ~$10M. So I have some "sympathy" for Ds' quixotry. That $10M might have done worse damage elsewhere.
One aspect of Trump that may have lost him some votes in some corners is his marriage track record and his crudity in that 2005 conversation. If he lost votes in this district over that concern, the D candidate pretty much flips that script with his 12-years of shack-up with his GF (how much of that is on his part and how much on hers doesn't really matter, since his commitment and wisdom is dubious whatever the mix).
FWIW, Trump's divorces and past crudity did not thrill me. But compared to - among many many other factors - The CHILL's support of Bill the Predator and her attacks on his victims? Not a tough choice.

Oh, completely understood and I'll reckon that it weighed quite heavily into very many (R)'s decisions. That being said, I don't give a f*ck. There is no possible way I would vote for a (D)Marxist, for anything.
