“I’d like to see the president in better shape politically,” McConnell said.

As the eyes of the political world begin to focus on the 2018 midterms, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has a warning for President Trump: if you want to keep the majority, get your approval rating up.

“If you look at what happened to [former President] Bill Clinton two years in, what happened to [former President] Barack Obama two years in, I’d like to see the president in better shape politically,” McConnell said.

President Trump’s approval rating stands at 41 percent.
