“Hold a town hall:” Cards Against Humanity delivering 2,059 potatoes to Ron Johnson’s Milwaukee office

MILWAUKEE — In March, Cards Against Humanity invited people to spend $5 to send a potato to U.S. Senator Ron Johnson’s office after Cards Against Humanity officials say the Wisconsin Republican sent a cease and desist order to a constituent.

Sounds like a good plan with zero chance of failing to shame Ron Johnson. Unless...

...his staff intercepts the potatoes at the post office and donates them to Milwaukee area food banks.

Quote
The big moment was to come early this week, when a load of 1,857 potatoes was to be delivered at Johnson's office at 517 E. Wisconsin Ave. Cards Against Humanity had a staffer ready to alert the media for photos when the delivery truck pulled up.

One problem: Someone from Johnson's office picked up the mail on Saturday, according to the postal service tracking order. And that included the potatoes which were trucked to Milwaukee in a postal service van.

"We don't really know where they are," Harris said. "Someone went to great lengths to pick up those potatoes."

Monday afternoon Johnson said the potatoes would be donated to food banks through Greater Praise Church of God in Christ in Milwaukee. Johnson's staff and the church have combined for the Joseph Project, which links inner-city workers from Milwaukee with businesses in other areas.

And to twist the knife...
Quote
"My suggestion was, rather than spending $5 on a 37 cent potato, donate that $5 to a food pantry. A far better use of your money," Johnson said.

No replies but dropping this here to mock the lurking DUmmies for being DUmmies.

Zap, Parts 1A and 1B! Sen. Johnson turned their political stunt on them, donating the potatoes to people who would use the potatoes for good. What might not be obvious to DU-folk, since many/most are ignorant of things Christian, the Church of God in Christ denomination is "traditionally black". I wonder how Sen. Johnson and his staff knew of that church ... well, no, I don't wonder, but DU-folk should.

Zap, Part 2!! The "Cards Against Humanity" idiots opened themselves up to it, and Sen. Johnson unloaded!

If the "Cards Against Humanity" idiots can't do anything good and worthwhile, they should just shut up and play cards.

I'd pay $5 to ship Amy Schumer to North Korea. Much better use of the money.

Wow, I am further out of the loop than I thought.  Nothing about this makes sense to me.  First off, I thought cards against humanity was a game, not a political organization.  And secondly, what does potatoes have to do with anything political?  I could maybe see sending potatoes to an Idaho politician or even Dan Quayle, but when did potatoes become a political statement?  So weird.

Can Johnson be sure he didn't donate Amy Schumer to a food bank?

None of the donated potatoes made an unfunny joke about their vagina.
