2. So...twitler's strike did nothing but make the US look impudent, and put American pilots at greater risk by causing Russia to end the flight info sharing deal. I guess the only good thing is shit gibbon owns every Assad atrocity from here on out. The blow back could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Not Obama, whose methods to supposedly disarm Syria have now proven to be completely worthless, as the attack demonstrates that Assad played him for the fool he is.

Satellite images released Friday of the Syrian air base that was pounded with 59 U.S. Tomahawk missiles show large-scale destruction to airfields, planes and fueling facilities allegedly used by the Assad regime to mount chemical weapons attacks.
However, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Syrian warplanes were able to take off from the base and carry out airstrikes in the countryside near Homs.
Shayrat air base was "almost completely destroyed" by the barrage of 1,000-pound warheads launched from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea early Friday, according to a human rights group in the country.

I know DU-folk will have no problem dismissing what they don't want heard. I could write the post:

Reality is that the ability of this base to support air activities has been significantly reduced. And replacing those MiG-23s won't be as simple as buying new aircraft, unless Syria wants to buy more F-4/F-111 generation MiG-23s - modern aircraft means lengthy pilot training.

I heard a clip this morning of SofS Rex Tillerson saying that the strike was intended to "send a message" to several nations . . . :fuelfire: :whistling:
