Title: Primitive goes into convulsions after hearing a song on the radio

Since the Orange Cheeto is completely immune to their impotent rage, they turn their sights on something a little easier- a nearly sixty year old song by Ray Stevens:

Heard "Ay-hab the Ay-rab" on the radio the other night

Granted, this was from 1962, before the US invented other cultures, but holy shit what an offensive piece of garbage.

Although I recognize that the esteemed Ray Stevens targets a demographic bracket to which I do not belong, it's amazing to me that anyone can find him (or could ever have found him) entertaining.

I listened to the whole thing only out of a sense of horror.

3. I first heard of it a long time ago but hadn't heard it in many years

It's the tale of the titular Ahab and his trusty camel Clyde who undergo a series of adventures presented in the most culturally sensitive manner possible.

4. Found a clip

On YouTube. Guy riding a muppet like camel. Strange.

Wrong one, nutbag.  Try searching again.

5. Hard to believe, I know

Countrified shit like this helps reinforce the ugly "racist southerner" stereotype, which incidentally under-represents the equally ugly (and equally common) racist northerner.

And posts like this will ensure you couch fainters won't recover for many more years.

Would the DUmmies approve of "The Streak"?

Would the DUmmies approve of "The Streak"?

My personal favorite is Ahab, followed by Mississippi Squirrel Revival.  I'm not a huge RS fan, but they are what they are, very tongue in cheek style of humor.

I'll give you primitives a hint- lighten up.  The same reason you keep losing elections is the same reason you can't understand why most people don't give a damn that you think this song is "offensive".

This one will make their heads explode.  On the one hand it can be construed as offensive against a minority group of people.  On the other that group is Jews so offense is not only OK, but encouraged:

For my part :bolt: I don't want to know! :bolt:

Is being utterly humorless a requirement for DU-hood?! Or does DU just attract humorless people?

I can go there too! I want reparations for:

Someone on FB posted a video of Indian (from India) people trying out our strange American candy, such as pops rocks, Butterfinger, Twinkies.  They then reviewed them.  It was mildly funny.  Someone got their panties in a wad, saying this was SO DIVISIVE between Americans and Indians, and it was just outrageously outrageous.  I just replied to her "you're so humorless, what's wrong with you?"

DUmbasses, this kind of shit is why people hate you.  Ahab the Aayrab.  Big ****ing deal.  I used to call my Arabic first husband a camel jockey.  I have a white friend who calls her black husband "Tootsie Roll."  He calls her "Hostess Snowball" in return.

A humorless liberal.  Everyone act surprised!

They're going to be really pissed off when they find out what movie won seven Oscars in 1963.

Damn.

First, I couldn't think of the artist although I've heard the song a hundred times.

Secondly, never listened to the lyrics that closely.  Yeah, DUmmies would ban it.

Oh my.

Talk about looking at something with "a sense of horror;" or rather, incredulity at how ridiculous the primitive looks:

I'd like to lock the primitive into a room and play some specific selections by David Allan Coe.

I remember seeing The Clash at school in 1983.  Loud, but a good show.  They played that song--they said that they "must rock the Casbah."  No piano, just guitars.

He's got a bunch of humorous songs.  Gitarzan, Bridget the Midget, I Stopped Sitting Up With the Dead (When the Dead Started Sitting Up, Too!), It's Me Again, Margaret!

LOTS to put knots in DUmmies undies!!

I said many years ago I was stunned "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry is still allowed to be played on the radio.  It is extremely sexists and even encourages drunk driving.  :cheersmate:

Classic lyrics. So politically incorrect it busts my gut!

Quote
There he saw Fatima layin' on a zebra skin rug with...
"Rings on her fingers and
Bells on her toes and a bone in her nose ho, ho."
There she was, friends, lyin' there in all her radiant
Beauty, eating on a raisin, grape, apricot, pomegranate,
Bowl of chittlin's, two bananas, three Hershey bars,
Sipping on a RC co-cola listenin' to her transistor,
Watchin' the Grand Ole Opry on the tube, readin' a Mad
Magazine while she sung, "Does your chewing gum lose
It's flavor?" Yeah, Ahab walked up to her and he say,
(imitate Arabic speech), which is Arabic for "Let's twist"
