My husband quit smoking! Now we have an extra $200 a month to donate to Democratic causes.
I'm thinking of setting up an automatic donation of $100 per month to the DCCC and $100 to the DNC. But I haven't done anything yet.
As far as my husband and I are concerned, our main goals are to build and strengthen the Democratic Party and to support and elect the most competitive Democratic candidates.
Is this the best use of our money? I've chosen to divide our newly available funds between the two most prominent and respected (in my view) Democratic organizations. Instead of picking-and-choosing and trying to figure out which candidates/causes/projects to make individual donations to, I basically wanted to make it easy and a "set-it-and-forget-it" process.
Your suggestions (or your nod of approval) will be welcomed.
Best,
Jackie
PS: He actually started quitting (with patches) at the beginning of the year. At this point, he's weaned himself off the patches and the cravings have stopped. So I'm confident enough in his continued success that I'm committing his smoke-money elsewhere. (And, this is also an incentive/reward for him to continue to stay-quit!!) :-D

Even stopping smoking is politicized? WTF DUmmie...

$200 a month for 20 years at 5% ROI results in an astounding $80,000!!!
That will go a LONG way to having a decent lifestyle and not soaking the people for welfare.
Instead you are going to throw money away on a losing cause in a meaningless gesture.
Assuming you do give to the dims -- which, being a DUmmy means you won't. You also won't save it. You will blow it on weed and booze. And renting a bigger TV from Dummies-R-Us (aka Rent-To-Own).

Husband gives up smoking, wife dreams up ways to piss away the savings.

Living with NurseJackie he decided to give up smoking so as to allow more time and money to pursue full time drinking duties.

They're just making that up. They're going to spend an extra $50 a month on crackers and cheez wiz and another $150 a month on weed.

$200/month works out to about a pack a day even at kkkalifornia prices. My guess is it is too late and hubby already has lung cancer.

2. Huge congratulations.
I think the DNC is a great place for your money. Possibly stash a little to the side for races that you spot.
I'm really happy about your husband.
Yeah, they spent donations sent to them so well in 2016. Using your extra money as toilet paper would be of more benefit to you rather than sending it to the DNC.

But $200 in one month will buy a Mossberg 500 and 2 12 gauge slugs.
Just a thought... :whistling:

Of course not, you moron. You would literally be better off setting fire to 200 $1 bills to heat your yurt. Of course, being the socially-conscious DUmmie that you are, you'd insist that the bank give you 200 Elizabeth Warren Sacagawea dollar coins and try to burn those, but that's your problem.

Stupid primitive, it's the government's money.
You may now expect a visit from the "Thought Complience Review Board". 😨

More than likely, it was OUR money to begin with.
DUmmies will piss away their pittance however they see fit.
Husband should have kept smoking. He'd get more enjoyment out of it than flushing it down the DNC crapper.
