Can't argue with that. When I was delivering the local rag's Sunday edition many, many years ago, I remember going up to one of my customers to collect. I noticed that the screen door was the only door closed--the front door was open. I rang the doorbell, and a full-sized black poodle was right there and barked. I jumped back and almost fell off the porch.

This is Sophie. She is one of the most intelligent dogs I have every had the opportunity to share living spaces with. I won't say 'owned' because that implies a different relationship than most people have with their dogs.

A couple lifetimes ago when I delivered mail, same situation BUT a German Shepard crashed THROUGH the screen at me........chased me a block and a half till I got my spray out and he just liked it off as if to say...is that all you got.

We had a woman mail carrier briefly that carried dog treats and made friends with a lot of dogs in the neighborhood.
The only thing people have to fear from our Beagle is being slobbered on. :rofl:

Yeah, I subbed on a route that was "mounted", I pulled up to this mailbox and a well behaved black lab came over and sat down next to the mailbox. I didn't think anything of it and went to the next box and the same dog came over and sat down again. He did this for about five boxes and crossed the street when I came up the other side and did the same.
When I got back and talked to the regular he said, "oh yeah, I keep dog biscuits under the seat". :thatsright: :lmao:
