Trumps budget ends Meals on Wheels. I can't believe it.
I have delivered meals on wheels. The people who rely on this would starve without it. I hate trump and the evil people that work for him. If trump died tomorrow i would celebrate. I have never said this about any president. This is pure evil.
Trump and his people are not americans in my book.. They are evil, greedy, insane people.
Trumps budget simply is, States you are on your own. Poor people you are on your own. You will no longer get help from the federal govt.
My anger has now turned into rage. I will be writing my senators. I am going to demand they start calling for trumps resignation. This bullshit has to end.

The part in bold sounds great to me. BTW, the private sector can do a better job with a meals on wheels type program so STFU with your whining.

I doubt that cut will fly.

I'm with you. Someone's going make a commercial to tie President Trump to a starving family.
but, let's remember--everything is a negotiation to President Trump. Everything. (Outside of the Constitution, that is.)

There is no national Meals on Wheels program. It is a catch all term for the different state services or organizations that deliver that type of service to the elderly/poor. Some do not even get federal funding now. The link has more info.

The White House says many of these programs are not cost effective, however. “The president said he was going to go after wasteful programs, duplicative programs, programs that simply don’t work, and a lot of those are in HUD,” Mick Mulvaney, director of the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the president, told reporters. “We’ve spent a lot of money on Housing and Urban Development over the last decades without a lot to show for it. Certainly, there are some successes, but there’s a lot of programs that simply cannot justify their existence, and that’s where we zeroed in.”
If they do not work why still use them? That is one reason I am glad I voted for Trump. A member of the GOPe would never dare touch a budget item like this. Trump is pretty much an "everything on the table" kind of leader.

I volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and can attest that it is a well run and much needed program. I don't necessarily think the federal gov should be on the hook to fund it, but it does need to continue.

Great negotiating tactic. Take everything off the table and find out what people REALLY need/want to be put back on it. Everything else hits the trashcan.

Local programs should be kept local. Federal involvement just enables nutcakery like MOOOOOOO-chelle's school lunches stupidity-hypocrisy. For that matter, I don't think any level of government should be involved in such things. Consider how the State of Massachusetts drove Catholic Charities out of adoption in that state:
* Does anyone believe MA is the only state that would use their funding to force a, "Knuckle under or get out," choice on religious charities?
* Does anyone believe SF or Berserkeley or (Name of Liberal City) wouldn't use their funding to force a, "Knuckle under or get out," choice on religious charities?

I considered the source and in pico-seconds determined it was pure bullshit.
Now with all of the necessary cuts Trump's budget did make sent my schadenboner into the Andromeda galaxy.
"We are gonna win, win, win. We're going to win with military, we're going to win at the borders, we're going to win with trade, we're going to win at everything. And some of you are friends and you're going to call, and you're going to say, 'Mr. President, please, we can't take it anymore, we can't win anymore like this, Mr. President, you're driving us crazy, you're winning too much, please Mr. President, not so much, and I'm going to say I'm sorry, we're going to keep winning because we are going to make America great again."
Bonus plus: This budget does what all the "True Conservatives' have said they would do. The masks like Little Maroc's, are already coming off.
But I'm sure Trump is just setting us up for a big letdown{/sarc}
Oh and **** EVERY SINGLE NEVER TRUMPER/TRUE CONSERVATIVE IN THE ASS WITH A SIDEWAYS BARBED WIRED PINEAPPLE COVERED IN HABERNO SAUCE.

From the FAKE news channel;
Though the blueprint doesn't contain enough detail to know for certain how local Meals on Wheels programs will be affected, spokeswoman Jenny Bertolette said, "It is difficult to imagine a scenario in which they will not be significantly and negatively impacted if the President's budget were enacted."
Programs across the country are already serving 23 million fewer meals than they did in 2005, and waiting lists to join Meals on Wheels are growing, she said.
About 3% of the budget for Meals on Wheels' national office comes from government grants (84% comes from individual contributions and grants from corporations and foundations), but the national association provides support and representation for a larger network of 5,000 independently operated local groups, Bertolette said.
The local agencies provide the actual meals and services, she said.

And don't hold anything back this time either. :-)

I got an idea that will fund meals on wheels, dummies. How about we fund meals on wheels with a large cut from welfare? If I understand meals on wheels it primarily serves the elderly and disabled. I am fine with that. I applaud it. What I am not fine with is giving people money for sitting on their ass... like you dummies.
It is called priorities. My income goes down, guess what? I cut back on the shit I really don't need. Goes down far enough I cut back on shit I need but can do without for a while. Far as I am concerned giving money to able bodied folks to sit on their ass, generation after generation, is shit we really don't need. They can get a job and work like the rest of us.

Pretty sure most Duches are on SSDI. So kick any questionable SSDI people off and use that money too.

We could fund them if government benefits weren't going to illegals

In other words, the national organization gets the federal dollars and they are wasted on salaries. Like most charities that have national and local groups, it's the local chapters that actually do the good works, and the national part just pays salaries to some liberals that feel good doing charity work while making a huge salary.

Those national meals were always stone cold by the time the wheels got to Mississippi. That's why our church runs a Meals program locally.

Curious how much of the increased demand for meals on wheels is based on baby boomers not adequately planning for their retirements

NOT A FEDERAL PROGRAM.

NOT A FEDERAL PROGRAM.
Doesn't matter to them. -Shortly before the final days of January 2017, something important happened in America - The poor, elderly, disabled, and homeless that were all but lost and forgotten during the prior 8 years or so were suddenly rediscovered.

Don't you know? During those years they were whisked away to oboingoland, where they rode unicorns on streets made of skittles and chocolate grew from trees and children laughed and played.
Then the evil Trump was elected and oboingoland was emptied back into the streets of America.

Money to pay for internment camps has to come from SOMEWHERE.
