I never really thought about it that way, but I can see her point. his health care plan was much closer
to hers than The BarackStar!'s, and that was one of the only two or three areas of disagreement of any
at all (and that wasn't really that much).
one more time, if I was a hillaryite, I would be even more pissed off now. if the adulterer had just some clean,
she would be going to denver as the nominee . . . .
Wolfson: Edwards' Cover-up Cost Clinton the Nomination
Aides Say She Would Have Won Iowa if Edwards Affair was Exposed
Sen. Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic presidential nominee if John Edwards had been caught in his lie about an extramarital affair and forced out of the race last year, insists a top Clinton campaign aide, making a charge that could exacerbate previously existing tensions between the camps of Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama.
"I believe we would have won Iowa, and Clinton today would therefore have been the nominee," former Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson told ABC News.com.
Clinton finished third in the Iowa caucuses barely behind Edwards in second place and Obama in first. The momentum of the insurgent Obama camaign beating two better-known candidates -- not to mention an African-american winning in sucn an overwhelmingly white state -- changed the dynamics of the race forever.
Obama won 37.6 per cent of the vote. Edwards won 29.7 per cent and Clinton won 29.5 per cent, according to results posted by the Iowa Democratic Party.
"Our voters and Edwards' voters were the same people," Wolfson said the Clinton polls showed. "They were older, pro-union. Not all, but maybe two-thirds of them would have been for us and we would have barely beaten Obama."

That actually crossed my mind last night - That in the end Edwards was a tool for Obama to siphon votes from Hillary. And sure enough, the news today is reporting this, and also questioning if Team Obama knew but kept silent since Edwards on the ticket worked in their favor.
The PUMAs should be rabid by now.

So Hillary Clinton was the victim of the liberal mainstream media. That could be big news itself, except for the telling phony hindsight questions...."why did they media not report.....?" The answer to that question is too obvious and damaging to be forthcoming.
Our Frank, myself, and a few other people have said that Hillary Clinton will end up being the democrat nominee. We've all been told it is a preposterous thing to say. Blacks will revolt, etc. etc.
The possibilities get less and less preposterous every day.

I've been saying all along, don't count Hillary out until the last vote in November is counted.
If nothing else, she'll be back in 2012, madder and meaner than ever.

What happened to the delegates that Edwards got?
When he put his support to Obama...do his delegates go to Obama?
I can't believe that Hillary's group never found out about Edwards. Unless they didn't want to call attention to Bill and his past.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the Clintons were aware of his wandering ways. Especially Bill....the old saying "takes one to know one" comes to mind.
This scandal, I believe, will weaken the democrats as a whole and it may have just pushed those undecided moderates to McCain's camp...primarily the Women over 40 vote.

they are free to support whomever they choose, I believe, but they would tend to support the candidate that the breck girl endorsed.
there weren't but 15 of them. I think hillary's point is that with edwards out of the race, it's a totally different dynamic at work.

if the clintons had anything that even resembled hard evidence, they would have blown him to mars. :-)
the problem appears to be that the MSM refused to report a story that the enquirer had broken, and as a result, got scooped bigger than life.

Only if Edwards had dropped out sooner, or not in at all. But if he only had 15.....doesn't seem like it would have made that much sooner.
Besides....if his affair had come out while he was campaigning....I think too many parallels would have been drawn between him and Bill. (Heck....they've been doing that as it is all weekend.)
It might have made things even worse for her.
I don't think this will push the undecideds toward McCain. Remember.....the Dems weren't that upset over a SITTING PRESIDENT having an affair with a young intern. Edwards' affair, while it reflects badly on him, it's come to light after he's out of the race.
Too bad, Obama didn't pick him for VP and then it came out. It may have kept married women over 40 from voting for them under those circumstances. However, Obama's a "family man"....and I don't think he would risk making Michelle mad......she's scary. :o
