Canadian Poon has chicken pox
Canadian swimmer Victoria Poon has been quarantined with chicken pox, according to CBC Sports swimming analyst Mark Tewksbury.
Poon, from LaSalle, Que., was taken to a local hospital in Beijing and didn't compete Sunday in the women's 4x100 metre freestyle relay team that finished eighth.

That is a shame for her. All that hard work....
A chicken pox outbreak at the Olympics in China seems plausible and would be ironically funny. It would be something the communist government cannot control.

I don't understand why she didn't get vaccinated by the land of free medical care for all.

She might have had the shot. My son had the chickenpox at the age of a year and a half old. At Two years and something he had the shot or shots for all that stuff. At around nine years of age, he had the chickenpox again. I'd say he's a good candidate for the shingles later on in life.
-
Thats surprising - the shot protects some 90% of people of any age from getting ill, and most of the remaining 10% have a mild case at worst.
but there are always exceptions to the rule.

The best innoculation is found by exposing children to chickenpox around the age of three or four.

From the title, I was thinking a "short bus" entry.
